Derek Bard (born June 14, 1995) is an American professional golfer. Bard was born in New Hartford, New York and played college golf at the University of Virginia. He currently resides in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Bard finished runner-up to Bryson DeChambeau at the 2015 U.S. Amateur, thus earning an invitation to the 2016 Masters Tournament and the 2016 U.S. Open. Bard missed the cut at the Masters by three shots, shooting rounds of 76-77, 9-over-par. The 2016 Arnold Palmer Cup was held from 24 to 26 June 2016 at Formby Golf Club in Formby, Merseyside, England. Europe won to . The Arnold Palmer Cup is an annual team golf competition for college/university golfers. From 2018 it has been contested between a United States team and an International team representing the rest of the world. The teams consist of 12 men and 12 women. The teams are selected on the basis of nationality, not according to the location of the players' universities. The Monroe Invitational Championship is an annual amateur golf tournament in the United States, played since 1937 at Monroe Golf Club in Pittsford, New York, a suburb southeast of Rochester. Originally a match play event, it switched to 72-hole stroke play format in 1998. The Sunnehanna Amateur, officially the Sunnehanna Amateur Tournament for Champions, is a men's amateur golf tournament. Founded in 1954, it is hosted annually at the Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, United States. It is considered to be one of the top amateur golf tournaments held in the United States and is classified as a Category A event by the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
