Derbyshire Women Cricket Team
The Derbyshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Derbyshire. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, and are captained by Lauren Tuffrey. In 2019, they competed in Division 3 of the final season of the Women's County Championship, and have since competed in the Women's Twenty20 Cup. They are partnered with the regional side Lightning. History Women's County Championship Derbyshire Women joined the Women's County Championship for its inaugural season in 1997, in which they won Division 3 and were promoted. They played in Division 2 for two seasons, before being relegated in 1999; however, they bounced straight back and were promoted the following season, winning five out of five games. Rolleston On Dove
Rolleston on Dove, also known simply as Rolleston, is a village in Staffordshire, England near Burton upon Trent. Sir Oswald Mosley, the founder of the British Union of Fascists spent some of his earlier years at the family seat here. Rolleston Hall, where Mosley lived, was sold by auction on 2 August 1923 for housing development. The lake and two of the entrance lodges remain. The family coat of arms are still displayed in what was originally the Victorian Commemoration Hall which is now Rolleston Club. Rolleston has an active group of residents (RODSEC) which organises many seasonal activities, including money raising events for local charities. Rolleston on Dove was served by a railway station which was opened by the North Staffordshire Railway on 1 November 1894. The station closed in 1949. 2018 Women's County Championship
The 2018 Women's County One-Day Championship was the 22nd cricket Women's County Championship season. It ran from the beginning of May to the beginning of June and saw 33 county teams and teams representing Scotland, Wales and the Netherlands compete in a series of divisions. Hampshire Women won the County Championship as winners of the top division with Yorkshire finishing runners-up. Bethany Harmer
Bethany Charlotte Harmer (born 30 October 2000) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Derbyshire, The Blaze and Northern Superchargers. An all-rounder, she is a right-handed batter and right-arm off break bowler. She previously played for Norfolk, Essex and Lincolnshire. Early life Harmer was born on 30 October 2000 in Norwich, Norfolk. Domestic career Harmer made her county debut in 2015, for Norfolk against Cumbria, in which she took 4/18, which remains her List A best bowling figures. She ended the season as Norfolk's joint-leading wicket-taker in the County Championship, with 6 wickets. Sarah Glenn
Sarah Glenn (born 27 August 1999) is an English cricketer who plays for the England women's cricket team as a leg break bowler. She also plays for Derbyshire, The Blaze, London Spirit and Brisbane Heat. After making her England debut in 2019, she played in the 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup and broke into the top 10 of the ICC T20I Bowling Rankings later that year. In September 2022, she rose to second in the Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) bowling rankings. Early life Glenn was born on 27 August 1999 in Derby. She was home-schooled for much of her early education, and later attended Trent College, where she played boys' first XI cricket. Kathryn Bryce
Kathryn Bryce (born 17 November 1997) is a Scottish cricketer who is the current captain of the Scotland women's cricket team. In December 2020, Bryce was named the ICC Associate Cricketer of the Decade. In June 2021, Bryce became the first cricketer for Scotland, male or female, to make it into the top ten of the ICC Player Rankings. Her sister, Sarah, has also played international cricket for Scotland. The 2022 Women's Twenty20 Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2022 Vitality Women's County T20, was the 13th edition of the Women's Twenty20 Cup, an English women's cricket Twenty20 domestic competition. It took place in April and May 2022, with 35 teams taking part, organised into eight regional groups. There was no overall winner, with Lancashire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Suffolk, Leicestershire and Rutland, Sussex, Middlesex and Devon winning their individual groups.
