Derby De Lisboa
The Derby de Lisboa or Dérbi de Lisboa (English: Lisbon derby) is a football derby match in Portugal. It is played between Lisbon clubs Benfica and Sporting CP, two of the most decorated clubs in Portugal. The rivalry originated in 1907 when eight Benfica players moved to Sporting before the first derby. The Latin Cup was an international football tournament for club sides from the Southwest European nations of France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. Alfredo Valadas
Alfredo Valadas Mendes (16 February 1912 – 1994) was a Portuguese footballer who played as outside forward. Over the course of 10 seasons, he amassed Primeira Liga totals of 136 games and eighty six goals, all at Benfica, winning nine major titles. Club career Born in Minas de S. Domingos, Beja; Valadas started his career at Luso Sport Clube, a delegation of Sporting CP at only age 15. With 19 years-old, he moved to Lisbon to play for Sporting, with the promise that they help him find a job, which they never did. After two seasons, he moved back to Beja, spent a year without competing and then joined Sport Lisboa e Beja in the regional league. In 1934, he returned to Lisbon and joined Benfica, again with the promise to help him find a job, which they did, when he became a civil servant in 1937. Manuel Soeiro
Manuel Esteves Soeiro Vasques (17 March 1909 – February 1977), known as Soeiro, was a Portuguese footballer who played as a striker. Club career Born in Barreiro, Setúbal District, Soeiro signed for Sporting CP in 1933 from local Luso Futebol Clube. During his 12-year spell with the former club, he helped to the conquest of four Taça de Portugal trophies – the competition was known as Campeonato de Portugal until 1938 – and the 1940–41 edition of the Primeira Liga. Additionally, he was the latter tournament's top scorer in 1934–35 and 1936–37. Soeiro appeared in 219 games for Sporting in all competitions, scoring 206 goals. Penalty Kick (association Football)
A penalty kick (commonly known as a penalty or a spot kick) is a method of restarting play in association football, in which a player is allowed to take a single shot at the goal while it is defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. It is awarded when an offence punishable by a direct free kick is committed by a player in their own penalty area. The shot is taken from the penalty mark, which is 11 m (12 yards) from the goal line and centred between the touch lines. Procedure The ball is placed on the penalty mark, regardless of where in the penalty area the foul occurred. The player taking the kick must be identified to the referee. Supertaça Cândido De Oliveira
The Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira (; English: Cândido de Oliveira Super Cup, or simply Portuguese Super Cup) is an annual Portuguese football match played since 1979 between the winners of the Portuguese League (Primeira Liga) and Portuguese Cup (Taça de Portugal). When a team wins both competitions (thus achieving the double (''dobradinha'')), it plays again against the Cup runners-up.
