Deportees (band)
Deportees is a Grammis-nominated Swedish band from Vindeln and Umeå, formed in 2003, consisting of brothers Peder Stenberg (vocals) and Anders Stenberg (guitar), in addition to Thomas Hedlund (drums). Previously, Mattias Lidström was a member as well, playing keyboards. To date, the band has released six studio albums and one EP. Career Deportees' debut single, "Arrest Me 'til It Hurts", contained pop, funk, and country influences. The song generated considerable interest among the public and critics and was followed by the band's first full-length album, ''All Prayed Up'', in 2004. Deportees promoted the release by touring Sweden, the United States, the UK, and Ireland. In 2006, for their second album, ''Damaged Goods'', they cooperated with producers Pelle Gunnerfeldt and Björn Yttling. Vindeln () is a locality and the seat of Vindeln Municipality in Västerbotten County, Sweden with 2,333 inhabitants in 2010. Climate Vindeln has a subarctic climate that is mildened for its latitude by its proximity to the Gulf Stream airflow. Grammis
The Grammis are music awards presented annually to musicians and songwriters in Sweden. The oldest Swedish music awards, they were instituted as a local equivalent of the Grammy Awards given in the United States. The awards ceremony is generally held each year in February in Stockholm. The awards were established in 1969 and awarded until 1972 when they were cancelled, then revived in 1987. There are around 20 different award categories, which have changed over the years. Swedish artists and foreign artists who live in Sweden are eligible, as are artists in other countries if their music is produced in Sweden and targets a Swedish audience. Björn Yttling
Björn Daniel Arne Yttling (born 16 October 1974 in Umeå, Sweden) is a Swedish music producer, songwriter, and musician. His production and songwriting credits include Lykke Li, Chrissie Hynde, Primal Scream, Franz Ferdinand, Sahara Hotnights, Anna Ternheim. Yttling is the bassist of the indie rock trio Peter Bjorn and John. He is also a co-founder of the label and artist collective INGRID and a member of the band LIV. Biography Early life Yttling was raised in Norsjö and started to create and record music at the age of eight. He moved to Västerås to attend a high school with a music programme.
