Department Of Environment (New Brunswick)
The Department of Environment was the Government of New Brunswick ministry charged with planning land use, zoning development and waste management as well as the enforcement of environmental legislation and regulations. It was created in its current form on February 14, 2006 when it was separated from the Department of Environment and Local Government. It has however existed in this form on previous occasions. It was first formed by Premier Richard Hatfield when he took office following the 1970 election. In 2000, then Premier Bernard Lord fused it with the Department of Municipalities to create the aforementioned Department of Environment and Local Government only to split them back in two six years later. The Government of New Brunswick (french: Gouvernement du Nouveau-Brunswick) refers to the provincial government of the province of New Brunswick. Its powers and structure are set out in the Constitution Act, 1867. Joan Kingston
Joan Margaret Kingston (born January 8, 1955) is a nurse, teacher and former political figure in New Brunswick, Canada. She represented New Maryland in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick as a Liberal member from 1995 to 1999. Blaine Myron Higgs (born March 1, 1954) is a Canadian politician who is the 34th and current premier of New Brunswick since 2018 and leader of the New Brunswick Progressive Conservative Party (PC Party) since 2016. Higgs graduated from the University of New Brunswick as an engineer. He then worked for 33 years for Irving Oil. Higgs ran for the leadership of the anti-bilingual New Brunswick Confederation of Regions Party in 1989. David Nathan Alward (born December 2, 1959) is a Canadian politician, who served as the 32nd premier of New Brunswick, 2010 to 2014. Alward has been a member of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick since 1999 and has been the leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of New Brunswick. Roland Haché (June 14, 1947 – April 24, 2020) was a politician in New Brunswick, Canada. He was a member of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick representing the electoral district of Nigadoo-Chaleur from 1999 to 2014. He earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education at the University of Moncton and taught classes at the college level.
