Denmark Speedway Team
Denmark is one of the major teams in international motorcycle speedway, speedway. They are managed by Denmark's most successful speedway rider, four time Speedway World Championship, Individual World Champion Hans Nielsen (speedway rider), Hans Nielsen and the current captain is Niels-Kristian Iversen. They have won the Speedway World Cup / Speedway World Team Cup a record 15 occasions with team manager Nielsen being a rider on 11 of those teams. Speedway World Cup The Denmark national speedway were a major force throughout the 1980s, winning a record 6 world titles in a row, between 1983 and 1988. Hans Nielsen (speedway Rider)
Hans Hollen Nielsen (born 26 December 1959) is a Danish former professional motorcycle speedway rider. He competed in the Speedway World Championships from 1977 to 1999. Nielsen is notable for winning four Speedway World Championship titles. During his career, he won a total of 22 World Championships, making him arguably the most successful speedway rider of all time. In 2012, Nielsen was named an FIM Legend for his motorcycling achievements. He later managed the Danish national team. Career Nielsen was born in Arentsminde near Brovst, Denmark. He was one of, if not the most successful riders the sport has ever seen. John Jørgensen
John Jørgensen (born 18 July 1962 in Middelfart, Denmark) is a former international motorcycle speedway rider from Denmark. He is not to be confused with Johnny Jørgensen, the 1989 Danish Junior speedway champion. Career Jørgensen won the World Team Cup in 1986 and 1988. He also qualified for the World Final on two occasions and rode in the 1999 and 2000 Speedway Grand Prix. Jørgensen rode in several countries and for various teams but was best known for his successful spell with the Coventry Bees. Odsal Stadium in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, is the home of Bradford Bulls Rugby League team. Sweden are one of the major teams in international speedway. They have been managed by Mats Olsson, who is currently in his 2nd spell, since 2005 after he quit in 2000. The current captain is 2000 World Under-21 Champion Andreas Jonsson. Bo Petersen
Bo Petersen (born 21 February 1958 Bolbro, Denmark) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Denmark. He was the 1980 Danish champion. Career Petersen first rode in the United Kingdom with the Hackney Hawks. Signed by Len Silver in 1978 he stayed with the Hackney until they closed at the end of the season 1983. In 1984, Petersen signed for the Swindon Robins. He then had spells with King's Lynn Stars and Wolverhampton Wolves in the top flight of the British League, before joining long-time sponsor Ivan Henry's new club Arena Essex Hammers in 1991. Henry had combined with Terry Russell to take over the Hammers from former promoter Chick Woodroffe. Competing in the British League Division Two, Petersen topped the league averages and led Arena to the League Championship, Knockout Cup and Fours Team Championship. The United States national speedway team are an international speedway team from the United States who compete in the annual major international speedway competitions including the Speedway World Cup and Speedway of Nations and the former events the Speedway World Team Cup and the Speedway World Pairs Championship. They are managed by Lance King, who finished third in the 1984 World Final and the current captain is triple and four times world champion Greg Hancock.
