Denmark station is a train station in Denmark, South Carolina, served by Amtrak, the United States' railroad passenger system. It was originally used by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad and the Southern Railway. Amtrak initiated service to the community on October 29, 1978, via the ''Champion'' (New York–St. Petersburg). Denmark is a city in Bamberg County, South Carolina, United States. The population at the 2010 census is 3,538. Geography Denmark is located in northwest Bamberg County at (33.321173, -81.142289). U.S. Route 78 and U.S. Route 321 cross in Denmark just north of the downtown area. US 78 leads east to Bamberg, the county seat, and west to Blackville. US 321 leads north to Norway and south to Govan. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , of which , or 0.09%, is water. Columbia Subdivision
The Columbia Subdivision is a railroad line owned by CSX Transportation in South Carolina and Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia. The line runs along CSX's S Line from Columbia, South Carolina, to Savannah, Georgia, for a total of . At its north end it continues south from the Hamlet Subdivision and at its south end it continues south as the Savannah Subdivision of the Jacksonville Division. Orangeburg, also known as ''The Garden City'', is the principal city in and the county seat of Orangeburg County, South Carolina, United States. The population of the city was 13,964 according to the 2010 United States Census and declined to 12,704 in the 2020 census. Seaboard Air Line Railroad
The Seaboard Air Line Railroad , which styled itself "The Route of Courteous Service," was an American railroad which existed from April 14, 1900, until July 1, 1967, when it merged with the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, its longtime rival, to form the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad. Predecessor railroads dated from the 1830s and reorganized extensively to rebuild after the American Civil War. The company was headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia, until 1958, when its main offices were relocated to Richmond, Virginia.
