Denkova-Staviski Cup
The Denkova-Staviski Cup is an annual international figure skating competition named after two-time World champion ice dancers Albena Denkova / Maxim Staviski of Bulgaria. It is held in November and December in Sofia, Bulgaria. In some years the senior event is part of the ISU Challenger Series. Medals may be awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. A figure skating competition is a judged sports competition in figure skating. Başar Oktar (born May 19, 2002) is a Turkish figure skater. He is the 2017 Denkova-Staviski Cup silver medalist on the senior level. Career Early career Oktar began learning to skate in 2008 at a mall. After winning his first junior national title, he was selected to compete at the 2016 World Junior Championships in Debrecen, Hungary. His short program placement, 31st, was not enough to qualify to the free skate. 2016–2017 season Oktar debuted on the ISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP) series in August 2016 in France. He placed 18th at the French event and later 14th in Estonia. In February 2017, he finished fourth at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Erzurum, Turkey. Burak Demirboğa (born 7 June 1996) is a Turkish figure skater. He has won three senior international medals and is a six-time Turkish national champion (2018–23). He competed in the final segment at two European Championships (2018, 2020). Personal life Demirboğa was born on 7 June 1996 in Kocaeli, Turkey. His older brother, Ali Demirboğa, has also competed in figure skating and contributes to his choreography. Sondre Oddvoll Bøe (born 13 January 1998) is a Norwegian former figure skater. He is the 2019 Nordic champion and a four-time Norwegian national champion. He has competed in the final segment at nine ISU Championships (six European and three World Junior Championships). Personal life Sondre Oddvoll Bøe was born on 13 January 1998 in Bærum, Norway.
