Bina Deneen
Bina Deneen (1868–1950), born Bina Maloney, was the first two-term first lady of Illinois, and the first to give birth in the Illinois Executive Mansion. She was the wife of Charles S. Deneen. Known at the time as "the ideal wife for a governor" for her calm and unassuming style, she was also an active participant in her husband's campaigns, and in the woman's club movement. __TOC__ Early life and education Bina Day Maloney was born on February 14, 1868, to a prosperous Carroll County, Illinois farm family. She was born and raised in rural Mount Carroll Township, where she attended the Big Cut district school. Her father was the township's commissioner of roads. Patrick Deneen (born December 25, 1987) is an American freestyle skier, specializing in moguls. Deneen was the gold medalist at the 2009 International Ski Federation (FIS) Freestyle World Ski Championships. In December 2009, Deneen won the US Olympic trials, held at Steamboat Springs, Colorado, securing a spot on the US Olympic Team for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. In FIS World Cup events, he has reached the podium at 4 events in 25 starts, and was the 2008 Freestyle Rookie of the Year. Patrick J. Deneen (born 1964) is an American political theorist who is Professor of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame. He studies and writes about political thought, especially American liberal democracy. Politically, Deneen advances a form of Catholic communitarianism, citing scholars such as Alexis de Tocqueville and Wendell Berry as influences. His book ''Why Liberalism Failed'' considers the loss of meaning and community in liberal society. Life and career Born in 1964, Deneen was educated at Rutgers University, earning a B.A. in English Literature (1986) and a Ph.D. in Political Science (1995). Dante Deneen Washington (born November 21, 1970, in Baltimore, Maryland) is an American former soccer player who played as a striker. Washington played college soccer at Radford University, and was named a first team All-American in 1991. He is the NCAA career leader for assists in men's soccer. Playing career After years in the various indoor leagues and minor outdoor leagues, he signed with MLS and the Columbus Crew midway through the inaugural 1996 season. But after only three games with the club, Dante was traded to the Dallas Burn for the rights to Brad Friedel.
