Demography (album)
''Demography > The Basement Tapes'' is a compilation album by 16volt, released on November 14, 2000, by Cleopatra Records. The album comprises a collection of old, unfinished tracks by the band. Specifically, it contains the ''Imitation'' cassette produced in 1991, which helped 16volt secure a place on Re-Constriction Records, and "Out of Time", which was cut from their first album, ''Wisdom'', due to time constraints. Reception Fabryka awarded the album three out of four and said "''Demography'' sounds a way hermetic with lots of electronics, less of raw guitars, more of bass sound." 16volt
16volt is an American industrial rock band featuring Eric Powell, with other performers added for live shows. History 16volt was formed in Portland, Oregon by composer and vocalist Eric Powell. Powell recruited musicians drummer Joel Bornzin, guitarist Jon Fell and Jeff Taylor to record "Motorskills", which debuted on ''The Cyberflesh Conspiracy'' various artist compilation by If It Moves... That band released their first full-length studio album ''Wisdom'' on May 25, 1993, after signing to Re-Constriction Records. The album received critical attention for its industrial-informed beats and abrasive electronic textures. The band continued to issue album's via Re-Constriction for the next three albums: ''Skin'' (1994), '' LetDownCrush'' (1996), and '' SuperCoolNothing'' (1998). The compact disc (CD) is a Digital media, digital optical disc data storage format that was co-developed by Philips and Sony to store and play digital audio recordings. Mastering, a form of audio post production, is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device (the master), the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication or replication). In recent years digital masters have become usual, although analog masters—such as audio tapes—are still being used by the manufacturing industry, particularly by a few engineers who specialize in analog mastering. Industrial metal is the fusion of heavy metal and industrial music, typically employing repeating metal guitar riffs, sampling, synthesizer or sequencer lines, and distorted vocals. Re-Constriction Records
Re-Constriction Records was a division of Cargo Music based in California. The label was founded in 1992 and headed by Chase, who was previously the Music Director at KCR, a student radio station on the campus of San Diego State University. They specialized in releasing bands belonging to the industrial, aggrotech and EBM genres. After the label folded, Chase went to work for Access Communications where he worked for 14 years doing video game-related public relations, including helping to launch Twitch in 2011. In May 2013, he took a staff job at Twitch overseeing all of their PR efforts. In 2019, he left Twitch and shortly thereafter joined StreamElements. History Chase contacted Belgium-based industrial label KK Records, a division of Cargo Music, to arrange for product servicing for the station which led to him getting a job with Cargo.
