Deltacloud
Deltacloud is an application programming interface (API) developed by Red Hat and the Apache Software Foundation that abstracts differences between cloud computing implementations. It was announced on September 3, 2009. Each Infrastructure-as-a-Service cloud existing today provides its own API. The purpose of Deltacloud is to provide one unified REST-based API that can be used to manage services on any cloud. Each particular cloud is controlled through an adapter called a "driver". As of June 2012, drivers exist for the following cloud platforms: Amazon EC2, Fujitsu Global Cloud Platform, GoGrid, OpenNebula, Rackspace, RHEV-M, RimuHosting, Terremark and VMware vCloud. Next to the 'classic' front-end, it also offers CIMI and EC2 front-ends. Deltacloud is used in applications such as Aeolus to prevent the need to implement cloud-specific logic. Cloud Infrastructure Management Interface
Cloud Infrastructure Management Interface (CIMI) is an open standard API specification for managing cloud infrastructure. CIMI's goal is to enable users to manage a cloud infrastructure in a simple way by standardizing interactions between cloud environments to achieve interoperable cloud infrastructure management between service providers and their consumers and developers. CIMI 1.1 was registered as an International Standard in August 2014 by the Joint Technical Committee 1 (JTC 1) of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Fujitsu Global Cloud Platform
FUJITSU Cloud IaaS Trusted Public S5 is a Fujitsu cloud computing platform that aims to deliver standardized enterprise-class Cloud computing#Public cloud, public cloud services globally. It offers Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) from Fujitsu's data centres to provide computing resources that can be employed on-demand and suited to customers' needs. In Japan, the service was offered as the On-Demand Virtual System Service (OViSS) and was then launched globally as Fujitsu Global Cloud Platform/S5 (FGCP/S5). Since July 2013 the service has been called IaaS Trusted Public S5. The Apache Software Foundation (ASF) is an American nonprofit corporation (classified as a 501(c)(3) organization in the United States) to support a number of open source software projects. The ASF was formed from a group of developers of the Apache HTTP Server, and incorporated on March 25, 1999. As of 2021, it includes approximately 1000 members. The Apache Software Foundation is a decentralized open source community of developers. The software they produce is distributed under the terms of the Apache License and is a non-copyleft form of free and open-source software (FOSS). Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization
Red Hat Virtualization (RHV) formerly known as Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, is an x86 virtualization product developed by Red Hat, and is based on the KVM hypervisor. Red Hat Virtualization uses the SPICE protocol and VDSM (Virtual Desktop Server Manager) with a RHEL-based centralized management server. The platform can access user and group information from either an Active Directory or FreeIPA domain which enables it to allocate resources effectively based on permissions. Built for use in enterprise datacenters RHV can support up to 400 hosts in a single cluster and no upper limit on the total number of hosts it can support. Development of RHV has ceased and as of August 2020 the product is now only receiving maintenance updates, with extended life phase updates provided until 2026. Red Hat Software
Red is the color at the long wavelength end of the visible spectrum of light, next to orange and opposite violet. It has a dominant wavelength of approximately 625–740 nanometres. Footnotes
A note is a string of text placed at the bottom of a page in a book or document or at the end of a chapter, volume, or the whole text. The note can provide an author's comments on the main text or citations of a reference work in support of the text. Apache Incubator
Apache Incubator is the gateway for open-source projects intended to become fully fledged Apache Software Foundation projects. The Incubator project was created in October 2002 to provide an entry path to the Apache Software Foundation for projects and codebases wishing to become part of the Foundation's efforts. All code donations from external organizations and existing external projects wishing to move to Apache must enter through the Incubator. The Apache Incubator project serves on the one hand as a temporary container project until the incubating project is accepted and becomes a top-level project of the Apache Software Foundation or becomes subproject of a proper project such as the Jakarta Project or Apache XML. On the other hand, the Incubator project documents how the Foundation works, and how to get things done within its framework. In Greek mythology, Aeolus or Aiolos (; grc, Αἴολος , ) is a name shared by three mythical characters.
