Dell XPS ("eXtreme Performance System") is a line of consumer-oriented high-end laptop and desktop computers manufactured by Dell. The XPS mainly competes against computers such as Acer's Aspire, HP's Pavilion and Envy, Lenovo's X1, Samsung's Sens, and Apple MacBook Pro. History The XPS name dates back to 1990 when Dell was more focused on corporate business than consumers. Gateway (then known as Gateway 2000) was the number one in the high-end consumer market. Dell Vostro
Dell Vostro is a line of business-oriented laptop and desktop computers manufactured by Dell aimed at small to medium range businesses. From 2013–2015, the line was temporarily discontinued on some Dell websites but continued to be offered in other markets, such as Malaysia and India. Prior to Vostro, Dell's home and small business computers were sold under the same lines: Dimension for home and small business desktops, and Inspiron for home and small business portables. With the introduction of Vostro, the Dimension line was discontinued, and the Inspiron line changed to include all computers for the home market; regardless of form factor. The Dell Latitude series is a line of laptop computers manufactured and sold by American company Dell. It is a business-oriented line, aimed at corporate enterprises, healthcare, government, and education markets; unlike the Inspiron series, which is aimed at individual customers, and the Vostro series, which is aimed at smaller businesses. The Latitude directly competes with the Lenovo ThinkPad and the EliteBook series by HP. Dell G Series
The Dell G Series is the successor to the Dell Inspiron Gaming Series (Pandora). It was launched in April 2018. This series is positioned below Alienware and competes with Lenovo's Legion, Acer's Nitro and Predator Helios, HP's Omen and Pavilion Power laptops. During CES 2019, Dell updated the G5 and G7. The G7 is now available in both 15" and 17" screen. Other upgrades includes a 144Hz refresh rate for the display with G-SYNC support and the inclusion of RGB keyboard. A G5 SE (special edition) was also announced during the trade show and differs from the regular G5 by being finished in alpine white and having a portion of the bottom panel transparent. Dell's Studio brand was a range of laptops and desktops targeted at the mainstream consumer market. The computers sit above Dell's Inspiron and below the XPS consumer lines in terms of price and specifications. Adamo (Italian for "To fall in love with") was a Dell slim luxury ultraportable subnotebook focused on design and mobility, intended to compete with Apple's MacBook Air laptop.
