Delhi Directorate of Education (abbreviated Del E) is the department under the education ministry Rudraksh of Delhi Government that manages the city's public school system. It is one of the India's largest school education system. History In 1973 ''Delhi School Education Act'' was passed in the assembly, according to which responsibility for Pre-primary and primary level of education in Delhi was given to local bodies like MCD, NDMC and Delhi Cantonment Board; and Directorate of Education was made responsible for secondary and senior secondary level of education. In 1980–81, Delhi had 704 secondary/senior secondary schools, which increased to 1759 in 2007–08. Students enrollment also increased from 254,000 in 1980–81 to 793,000 in 2007–08. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national level board of education in India for public and private schools, controlled and managed by the Government of India. Established in 1929 by a resolution of the government, the Board was an experiment towards inter-state integration and cooperation in the sphere of secondary education. Junior Science Talent Search Examination
Mukhyamantri Vigyan Pratibha Pariksha is an Indian scholarship exam conducted each January by the Science Branch of the Directorate of Education in Delhi. It is open to students of recognized schools in Delhi. 1000 students per year are awarded the scholarship. Eligibility Any student studying in Class IX of a recognized school in Government or Government Aided/Public/KV (Kendriya Vidyalaya) /Navodaya/NDMC (North Delhi Municipal Corporation) schools and having earned at least 60% class VIII is eligible. New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is the municipal council of the city of New Delhi, Delhi, India. It covers an area of 42.7 km2 under its administration, which is commonly referred as Lutyens' Delhi.
