''Deleter'' is a 2022 Philippine techno-horror film directed by Mikhail Red, starring Nadine Lustre, Louise delos Reyes, McCoy de Leon, and Jeffrey Hidalgo. It was released theatrically on December 25, 2022 as an entry to the 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival. Plot summary The film follows Lyra, who works shifts at a shadowy online content moderation office where employees, known as deleters, are tasked with the process of filtering graphic uploads from reaching social media platforms. The responsibility of censorship proves bearable for Lyra, whom her co-workers, as well as her boss Simon, observe as a cold person unfazed by the disturbing imagery she sees on a daily basis. What they do not know is that Lyra hides a deep trauma. Lyra’s attempt to erase and forget her past has forced her to maintain an apathetic face to the horrors of the world. The 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is the 48th edition of the annual Metro Manila Film Festival held in Metro Manila and throughout the Philippines. It is being organized by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). During the festival, no foreign films are shown in Philippine theaters (excluding IMAX and 4D theaters). Entries Feature films The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Executive Committee announced the first four official entries in July 2022 which were entered as script submissions. The last four entries was announced after the submission period for finished films ended on September 30, 2022. On October 20, 2022, the last four films was announced by MMFF Executive Committee. 2023 FAMAS Awards
The 71st Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards took place on August 13, 2023, at the Manila Hotel in Manila and honored the best Filipino films released in 2022. The nominations were announced on August 1 on FAMAS official Facebook page. Mikhail Red
Mikhail Red is a Filipino filmmaker. He is best known for his films ''Birdshot'' (2016), ''Eerie'' (2019), and '' Dead Kids'' (2019), which was the first ever Netflix original film from the Philippines. A prolific director whose professional career started in his early 20s, Red's films traverse a variety of genres and combine genre elements with social commentary. Early life Mikhail Red is the eldest son of Raymond Red, who won the Short Film Palme d'Or for his film ''Anino'' at the 2000 Cannes Film Festival. Mary Grace delos Reyes Perido (born September 1, 1992), better known Louise delos Reyes, is a Filipino actress and model.
