Del Valle Independent School District (DVISD) is a public school district in the Del Valle community area of unincorporated Travis County, Texas (USA). The school district serves much of southeast Travis County. Incorporated communities in the district include Creedmoor, Webberville, most of Mustang Ridge, and parts of Austin. Del Valle, Texas
Del Valle ( ) is an airport-defined edge city of Austin and part of the Austin–Round Rock–San Marcos Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is founded upon the 19th-century Santiago Del Valle leagues, the largest granted land parcel in Travis County. It is an unincorporated area in southeastern Travis County, Texas, United States. It has no local government of its own and no official boundaries. But Austin has annexed portions, including the site of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in 1990. After that, most recently in 2013, the city added more Del Valle territory to the east (8 to 13 miles southeast of downtown Austin). Recent industrial developments include those by Tesla, which has received significant tax relief from Del Valle Independent School District, rated at $60 million. Pilot Knob, Texas
Pilot Knob is an unincorporated community in southern Travis County, Texas, United States. The area is semi-rural with residences on large lots or acreage and convenience stores and other small businesses. It is located within the Greater Austin metropolitan area. History Pilot Knob was named for Pilot Knob, the remnant hill of an extinct volcano. It was first settled sometime after the American Civil War. A church and a few scattered houses were visible in the 1940s. Residents tried to incorporate Pilot Knob in 1963, but it did not have enough signatures. In 2012, the Easton Park neighborhood of Austin became a planned unit development and is being developed within the area. Geography Pilot Knob is located at the intersection of US 183 and Farm to Market Road 812, southeast of Austin in southern Travis County. Del Valle High School is a public high school located in the Del Valle community in unincorporated Travis County, Texas, United States and is part of the Del Valle Independent School District. The high school serves the communities of Austin, Creedmoor, Garfield, Mustang Ridge, Pilot Knob, Elroy, Webberville, and Hornsby Bend. It is affiliated with Austin Community College. It was given a "recognized" rating by TEA (Texas Education Agency) for the 2008-2009 school year. History In 1956, Del Valle Junior-Senior High School was built to serve grades seven through ten, and grade eleven was added 1957, and a mascot and colors were chosen. During that year, grade twelve was added as was the Cardinal field.
