Del Palmer
Derek Peter "Del" Palmer is an English singer, songwriter, bass guitarist and sound engineer, best known for his work with Kate Bush, with whom he also had a long-term relationship between the late 1970s and early 1990s. He released his first solo studio album titled ''Leap of Faith'' in 2007, followed by ''Gift'' in 2010. His third solo album, ''Point of Safe Return'', was released on 6 March 2015. Biography Born in Greenwich, southeast London, he began playing bass in 1967, joining friend Brian Bath's band Cobwebs and Strange. In 1969, Palmer and Bath formed Tame with Victor King on drums. The band lasted until 1970. From 1972, Palmer and Bath were in Company with Barry Sherlock (guitar) and Lionel Azulay (drums). Greenwich
Greenwich ( , ,) is a town in south-east London, England, within the ceremonial county of Greater London. It is situated east-southeast of Charing Cross. Greenwich is notable for its maritime history and for giving its name to the Greenwich Meridian (0° longitude) and Greenwich Mean Time. The town became the site of a royal palace, the Palace of Placentia from the 15th century, and was the birthplace of many Tudors, including Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. "There Goes a Tenner" is a song by the English singer Kate Bush. It was released as a single on 2 November 1982, the third to be taken from her album ''The Dreaming''. It was released as a 7-inch single in the UK and Ireland only. Background "There Goes a Tenner" is often considered to be something of a "lost single" because when it was released, the single gained no interest from any radio stations nor did the song's video on music television programmes. Due to this lack of media interest, the single did not sell well and became Bush's first single to miss the top 75 in the UK, peaking at number 93. ''Answers to Nothing'' is the second solo studio album by Scottish musician Midge Ure, released on 22 August 1988 by Chrysalis Records. It was the first release by Ure following the demise of Ultravox. Background Ure wrote, produced and recorded all the songs round 10 months in his 24-track home studio. As a solo artist, Ure only hit the singles chart once in America with the single "Dear God". It reached No. 95 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, No. 6 on the US ''Billboard'' Mainstream Rock chart and at No. 4 on the US ''Billboard'' Alternative Music chart in 1989. Midge Ure
James Ure (born 10 October 1953) is a Scottish musician, singer-songwriter and record producer. His stage name, Midge, is a phonetic reversal of Jim, the diminutive form of his actual name. Ure enjoyed particular success in the 1970s and 1980s in bands including Slik, Thin Lizzy, Rich Kids and Visage, and as the frontman of Ultravox. In 1984, he co-wrote and produced the charity single " Do They Know It's Christmas?", which has sold 3.7 million copies in the UK. The song is the second highest-selling single in UK chart history. Harry Houdini (, born Erik Weisz; March 24, 1874 – October 31, 1926) was a Hungarian-American escape artist, magic man, and stunt performer, noted for his escape acts. His pseudonym is a reference to his spiritual master, French magician Robert-Houdin (1805–1871). He first attracted notice in vaudeville in the United States and then as "Harry 'Handcuff' Houdini" on a tour of Europe, where he challenged police forces to keep him locked up. The MTV Video Music Awards (commonly abbreviated as the VMAs) is an award show presented by the cable channel MTV to honour the best in the music video medium. "The Big Sky" is a song by English singer-songwriter Kate Bush. Released in 1986, it was the fourth and final single to be released from her No. 1 album '' Hounds of Love''. The single became another Top 40 hit for Bush, peaking at No. 37 on the UK Singles Chart. The 7" single was released as the "Special Single Mix", which includes a different intro and edited dubs before the final refrain. This version appears as a B-side on the 1994 CD single " The Red Shoes". The 12" single includes an extended version of "The Big Sky" called the "Meteorological Mix". ''Top of the Pops'' (''TOTP'') is a British Record chart, music chart television programme, made by the BBC and originally broadcast weekly between 1January 1964 and 30 July 2006. The programme was the world's longest-running weekly music show. For most of its history, it was broadcast on Thursday evenings on BBC One. Each show consisted of performances of some of the week's best-selling popular music records, usually excluding any tracks moving down the chart, including a rundown of that week's singles chart.
