''Debo Hacerlo'' (English language, Eng.: ''I Must Do It'') is a compilation album by the Mexican singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel. It was released in 1988, and would be the last album with new songs released by the singer, until his album ''Gracias Por Esperar (Juan Gabriel), Gracias Por Esperar'' in 1994. The title song became the second number-one single for Gabriel in the Hot Latin Tracks, ''Billboard'' Hot Latin Tracks chart and the album sold seven million copies worldwide, his second best selling album after ''Recuerdos II''. Album history Between 1986 and 1994, Mexican singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel refused to record any material because of a dispute with Bertelsmann Music Group, BMG over copyrights to his songs. "Debo Hacerlo" ("I Must Do It") is a dance song written, produced and performed by Mexican singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel. It was released as the first single from his compilation album of the same title (1987). This song became the last original song recorded by Gabriel, until 1994, due to a copyright dispute with BMG over his repertoire, and was later covered by Ana Gabriel, Nydia Rojas, Pandora, José Octavio and Aleks Syntek. Background "Debo Hacerlo" became the last original song recorded by Mexican singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel, due to his refusal to record any new material, since the dispute with BMG over copyrights to his songs was unresolved.
