Dean Young (poet)
Dean Young (born 1955; died 23 August 2022) was a contemporary American poet in the poetic lineage of John Ashbery, Frank O'Hara, and Kenneth Koch. Often cited as a second-generation New York School poet, Young also derived influence and inspiration from the work of André Breton, Paul Éluard, and the other French Surrealist poets. Life He was born in Columbia, Pennsylvania. He received his MFA from Indiana University. In 2008, Young became the William Livingston Chair of Poetry of the Michener Center for Writers at the University of Texas at Austin. His most recent books are ''Bender: New and Selected Poems'', ''Fall Higher'' and ''The Art of Recklessness''. In an interview, Young said his poems are about misunderstanding and that tying meaning too closely with understanding is not the intent of his poetry. Dean Young (born 28 October 1983) is an Australian professional rugby league coach who is the assistant coach of the North Queensland Cowboys in the NRL and a former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 2000s and 2010s. Primarily a or , Young spent his entire playing career for the St. George Illawarra Dragons, winning a premiership with them in 2010, and represented Australia and New South Wales. In 2020, he was interim head coach of the Dragons and in 2021, interim head coach of the Cowboys for one game. Dean Wayne Young (born July 2, 1938) is the head writer of the popular comic strip '' Blondie'', which he inherited from his father Chic Young, who died in 1973. Since then, Dean Young has collaborated on ''Blondie'' with several artists: Jim Raymond (1973–81), Mike Gersher (1981–84), Stan Drake (1984–97) and Denis Lebrun (1997–2005). Since 2005, ''Blondie'' is drawn by John Marshall, who worked with his assistant Frank Cummings until the latter's death in 2014. In 1986, Young talked about his gag situations, his approach to the characters of Blondie and Dagwood and satisfying his readers. He also explained how he could be in Vermont or Florida and collaborate with Stan Drake at his studio in Westport, Connecticut: :"I like to deal mainly with domestic situations, and I primarily stick with eating, sleeping, raising children and making money. Dean Young (born 7 January 2002) is a Scottish professional snooker player. Career Young went to Firrhill High School and has been playing since the age of seven. Dean Geoffrey Young (born 23 March 1973) is an Australian politician. He was a Liberal Party of Australia member of the Tasmanian House of Assembly, representing the electorate of Franklin from 2022 when he was elected in a countback of votes to replace Jacquie Petrusma until his defeat at the 2024 state election.
