Deadline (1995 TV Series)
''Deadline'' is a British fly-on-the-wall documentary series following the journalists at Yorkshire Television's local news service, ''Calendar''. It was broadcast as a series of six episodes on Channel 4 from 20 March to 1 May 1995 as part of its ''Whose News?'' season. Production Yorkshire Television agreed to allow access to Channel 4's fly-on-the-wall documentary series following ITN's refusal to take part in the project. Most of the ''Calendar'' team took part in the documentary rather than be accused of hypocrisy; Christa Ackroyd says, "how could I, a TV journalist whose job it is to persuade others to appear on camera, refuse to take part when the tables were turned?". A documentary film or documentary is a non-fictional film, motion-picture intended to "document reality, primarily for the purposes of instruction, education or maintaining a Recorded history, historical record". The Guardian
''The Guardian'' is a British daily newspaper. It was founded in 1821 as ''The Manchester Guardian'', and changed its name in 1959. The Independent
''The Independent'' is a British online newspaper. It was established in 1986 as a national morning printed paper. Nicknamed the ''Indy'', it began as a broadsheet and changed to tabloid format in 2003. The last printed edition was published on Saturday 26 March 2016, leaving only the online edition. Lynne Perrie (born Jean Dudley; 7 April 1931 – 24 March 2006) was an English actress, singer and television personality, best known as Mrs Casper in Ken Loach's 1969 film '' Kes'', Mrs Petty in the television series '' Queenie's Castle'', and as Ivy Tilsley in ''Coronation Street''. Early life Perrie was the second of four children; a brother, Victor, died before she was born. Her younger brother was actor Duggie Brown. Perrie attended Rotherham Girls High School after passing her 11-plus. After leaving school, she trained as a dispenser at Boots. She later abandoned her studies to concentrate on her singing career. Murder Of Lindsay Rimer
Lindsay Jo Rimer (17 February 1981 – ''ca.''7 November 1994) was a thirteen-year-old British girl from Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, who was murdered. She was last seen alive buying cornflakes at a SPAR shop on Crown Street in Hebden Bridge on 7 November 1994, and her body was found about a mile away in the Rochdale Canal which passes through the town on 12 April 1995. Despite repeated appeals for information by police, her murder remains unsolved. Over the years, a number of speculative theories have been promoted linking Rimer's murder to known criminals, and police have investigated killers such as John Taylor, the murderer of Leanne Tiernan.
