Professor Emeritus Georges J. E. De Moor (born 25 August 1953, Ostend, Belgium) is a Belgian Medical Doctor, Clinical Pathologist and has been head of the Department of Health Informatics and Medical Statistics of the University of Ghent (Ghent). Education His primary and secondary education was at Saint Barbara College in Ghent (1960–1972). In 1979 he graduated in medicine and afterwards specialized in clinical pathology (1979–1983) and Nuclear Medicine (1982) before obtaining a PhD, summa cum laude, in medical information science at the University of Ghent in 1994. Guido Demoor
Guido Demoor (1952) was a Belgian NMBS/SNCB Thalys train driver and father of two children. He died on 24 June 2006 after an incident of violence in an Antwerp public transport bus with a group of six youths. The exact circumstances under which Demoor died remain disputed. One of the youths was sentenced to a conditional two years imprisonment for kicking Demoor. Incident The incident took place around 15:00 (3 p.m.) on 24 June 2006, when the 54-year-old Demoor was heading to work on a De Lijn city bus in Antwerp. There was a disturbance, involving Demoor and six youths of Moroccan descent (five Belgian citizens, one with Spanish passport). During the incident, Demoor received more than one blow to his body. Near the end of the incident, one of the youths rang the alarm bell, and some or all of them left the bus. He is most notable for his work with the record producer Ferry Corsten under the working title, " Veracocha," and for his 2001 single, "Fly Away". Margaretha Maria Antonetta 'Margriet' de Moor ('' née'' Neefjes; born 1941) is a Dutch pianist and writer of novels and essays. She won the AKO Literatuurprijs for her novel ''Eerst grijs dan wit dan blauw'' (1991). The term Moor, derived from the ancient Mauri, is an exonym first used by Christian Europeans to designate the Muslim inhabitants of the Maghreb, the Iberian Peninsula, Sicily and Malta during the Middle Ages. Des de Moor (born 20 April 1961 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England) is a writer, singer, musician and songwriter. His first performance in front of a paying audience was in Hertford, Hertfordshire, England in June 1976. He worked with local bands and performed in folk clubs in the Hertford area during the late 1970s and 1980s before moving to London in 1985. In 1987 he formed The Irresistible Force with Morris Gould aka Mixmaster Morris, releasing two singles and several remixes and performing in Britain and the Netherlands. After dissolving his partnership with Gould late in 1989, de Moor re-emerged in 1993 as an acoustic performer specialising in European-influenced chanson, theatre song and musical cabaret.
