Days Of Worth
Days of Worth were a five-piece English rock band. Formed in 2002, they quickly forged their own variation on the UK rock sound of the time, influenced by the likes of Hundred Reasons, Hell Is For Heroes and more obscure bands such as Handsome and the Boston-based outfit Cave In. They also name early 1990s bands such as Soundgarden as influences. In mid-2002 the band released their debut five-track EP, ''Extended Play'', through indie label Alpha9. Four of the five tracks, "Ladies and Gentlemen", "State of Me", "Take Me Through" and "Narcolepsy" would later be re-recorded for their first album, ''The Western Mechanism''. The fifth track, titled "Retainer", remains the only track to be exclusive to the EP. Although the band were quick to distance themselves from their first recording it gained them a sizable local following and attracted the attention of London-based label Visible Noise, who signed them in early 2003. Post-hardcore
Post-hardcore is a punk rock music genre that maintains the aggression and intensity of hardcore punk but emphasizes a greater degree of creative expression. It was initially inspired by post-punk and noise rock. Like post-punk, the term has been applied to a broad constellation of groups. Visible Noise
Visible Noise is a British independent record label that focuses solely on British bands. History Founded in 1998 by ex-Cacophonous Records manager Julie Weir, the label was created with the goal of fostering and breaking new UK rock music into the zeitgeist. According to Weir, at that time, "everybody gave American bands far too much attention". Visible Noise has been noted for bringing well known UK rock bands into the mainstream such as Bring Me the Horizon, Bullet for My Valentine, and the now defunct Lostprophets. Fin (band)
Fin (stylized as fiN) is an American rock band formed in South West London, Surrey, England, in 2011. The band consists of Luke Joyce (vocals/guitar), Jonny Garner (guitar), Kerry Lambert (bass), and Simon Harding (drums). Fin released their debut, "The Artisan"/"It Changes Everything" — a double a-side single — in October 2011. They self-recorded their debut album ''Life Is Wasted on the Living'' and released it digitally on 25 March 2013. The album was mixed by Adrian Bushby Foo Fighters, Muse. Originally planned for release on six 7" singles, they stopped after the first four. Hundred Reasons
Hundred Reasons are an English alternative rock band from Aldershot, Hampshire, and Teddington, South West London, formed in 1999. The band consists of Colin Doran (vocals), Larry Hibbitt (guitar, vocals), Andy Gilmour (bass) and Andy Bews (drums). Having toured almost constantly for 14 months throughout the UK and Europe in support of their first releases EP1 (Cerebra), EP2 (Remmus) and EP3, (I'll Find You), Hundred Reasons released their debut album, '' Ideas Above Our Station'' (2002), to critical acclaim and commercial success. The album yielded the singles, "I'll find you", "If I Could", "Silver" and "Falter", and was followed by ''Shatterproof Is Not a Challenge'' in 2004. Hell Is For Heroes (band)
Hell Is for Heroes are an English post-hardcore band from London. Founder members Will McGonagle and Joe Birch (previously of Symposium) were joined by James Findlay, Tom O'Donoghue and later Justin Schlosberg. The band played their formative shows in West London throughout 2001. After two independently released singles, Hell Is for Heroes released their debut album in February 2003 on EMI. ''The Neon Handshake'' was produced and recorded in Los Angeles at Sound City Studios and mixed in Umeå, Sweden at Tonteknik by Pelle Henricsson and Eskil Lövström. The band's A&R was managed by Duncan Illing. The band and their A&R left EMI in 2004. The band released its second album ''Transmit Disrupt'' independently, before signing a deal with Burning Heart Records, who subsequently re-released it in 2006. Handsome (band)
Handsome was an American rock supergroup formed in 1995. The group's lineup was singer Jeremy Chatelain, guitarists Peter Mengede (formerly of Helmet), Tom Capone (formerly of Quicksand), bassist Eddie Nappi, and drummer Pete Hines (formerly of Cro-Mags and Murphy's Law). Capone would leave the group in 1997, replaced by Donni Campion (formerly of Electric Love Hogs). They released two 7" vinyl singles in 1995, two CD singles in 1997 and one album, '' Handsome'' (1997), through Epic/Sony before disbanding. Cave In
Cave In is an American rock band that formed in 1995 in Methuen, Massachusetts. The band's lineup solidified with the 1998 release of ''Until Your Heart Stops'' through Hydra Head Records, and their early albums were prominent in the metalcore scene. The band later experimented with other genres, receiving mainstream recognition for their 2003 RCA Records album ''Antenna'' and its lead single "Anchor," which had an overall alternative rock style. Soundgarden
Soundgarden was an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1984 by singer and drummer Chris Cornell, lead guitarist Kim Thayil (both of whom are the only members to appear in every incarnation of the band), and bassist Hiro Yamamoto; Cornell switched to rhythm guitar in 1985, replaced on drums initially by Scott Sundquist, and later by Matt Cameron in 1986. Yamamoto left in 1990 and was replaced initially by Jason Everman and shortly thereafter by Ben Shepherd. The band dissolved in 1997 and re-formed in 2010. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s.
