Zako Heskiya
Zako Heskija, Isaac Solomonov Heskiya, ''Зако Хеския'', also: ''Zako Heskia'' or "Sako Cheskija" (21 September 1922 – 3 June 2006) was a Bulgarian film director and screenwriter. He was born in Istanbul (Turkey) to Jewish parents. He graduated Cinema and Photograph College in Sofia. Since 1956 until 1965, he had been an assistant director in Boyana Film Studio. Heskia became in 1966 international audience for "Gorechto Pladne" (Torrid Noon), the first Bulgarian contribution to the Cannes Film Festival and a nomination for the Palme d'Or. In 1981 he won the spezial prize at the 12th Moscow International Film Festival for ''Yo Ho Ho''. Zako Heskiya worked as a leader of the group "Debut" in former Boyana Studio (succeeded by Nu Boyana Film Studios) and opened the door to professional work for many young Bulgarian film directors. Pavel Vezhinov
Pavel Vezhinov () (November 9, 1914 – December 2, 1983), born Nikola Delchev Gugov (), was a Bulgarian novelist and scriptwriter, with an interest for social and ethical issues and one of the first Bulgarian authors to use elements of fantasy in his fiction. Vezhinov is best known for his novels ''The Barrier'' (''Бариерата'') (1976) and ''In the night riding the white horses'' (''Нощем с белите коне'')(1975), both later adapted for screen, as well as the screenplay for the Bulgarian film classic ''Three Reservists'' (''Тримата от запаса'')(1971). Georgi Georgiev-Getz ( bg, Георги Георгиев-Гец; October 4, 1926 – September 2, 1996) was a Bulgarian film and stage actor. Best known for portraying valiant and honest conservative men, Getz was among the prominent names in the Bulgarian cinematography and theatre during the second half of the 20th century. Georgi Cherkelov (Георги Черкелов); 25 June 1930 – 19 February 2012) was Bulgarian stage and film actor. One of the most prominent names in the Bulgarian theater and cinema in the last decades. He became widely popular after the role of the anti-communist police inspector Velinski in the TV series '' At Every Kilometer'' (1969). Operation Spring Awakening
Operation Spring Awakening (german: Unternehmen Frühlingserwachen) was the last major German offensive of World War II. The operation was referred to in Germany as the Plattensee offensive and in the Soviet Union as the Balaton defensive operation. It took place in Western Hungary on the Eastern Front and lasted from 6 March until 15 March, 1945. The objective was to secure the last significant oil reserves still available to the European Axis powers and prevent the Red Army from advancing towards Vienna. It was a failure for Nazi Germany. Stoyan Gadev ( bg, Стоян Гъдев; 1931–1999) was a Bulgarian stage and film actor. He is probably best known for the role of Stoil the Haidouk in the popular TV series '' Captain Petko Voivode'' (1981) written by Nikolay Haytov. Stefan Lambov Danailov ( bg, Стефан Ламбов Данаилов; 9 December 1942 – 27 November 2019) was a Bulgarian actor who served as Minister of Culture of Bulgaria (August 2005 – July 2009). The first film Danailov took part in was ''The Traces Remain'' (') when he was a child. At that time he did not want to be an actor but in 1966, he graduated from VITIZ (the Bulgarian Theatre Academy). His best-known work was as Major Deyanov in the series ' (''At Each Kilometer'').
