Dawn Martin
Dawn Martin (born 1976 in Dundalk) is an Irish people, Irish singer who represented Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest, Ireland in the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest. Career and Eurovision Dawn Martin left school at the age of 14 and began working as a hairdresser. Being the eldest of eight children, she helped her parents to raise the family. In 1996 Martin had been asked to sing at a friend's wedding and was persuaded by the band to enter a local talent contest. Although working full-time as a hairdresser, Martin continued singing and became a member of a local cabaret band called Us, who performed at weddings and local pubs. In 1997 Martin appeared on ''George Jones (radio presenter), The George Jones Show'' on BBC Radio Ulster and was heard by Gerry Morgan, who invited Martin to perform his song "Is Always Over Now?". Dundalk
Dundalk ( ; ga, Dún Dealgan ), meaning "the fort of Dealgan", is the county town (the administrative centre) of County Louth, Ireland. The town is on the Castletown River, which flows into Dundalk Bay on the east coast of Ireland. It is halfway between Dublin and Belfast, close to the border with Northern Ireland. It is the eighth largest urban area in Ireland, with a population of 39,004 as of the 2016 census. Having been inhabited since the Neolithic period, Dundalk was established as a Norman stronghold in the 12th century following the Norman invasion of Ireland, and became the northernmost outpost of The Pale in the Late Middle Ages. Paul Harrington (born 13 May 1960) is an Irish musician, who, with Charlie McGettigan, won the Eurovision Song Contest for Ireland in 1994. Career Music Harrington was born in Dublin, Republic of Ireland.He attended O'Connells secondary School, North Circular Road Dublin. He first came to public attention with his debut album, ''What I'd Say'', reaching the Top 10 in 1991. When You Need Me (The Mullans Song)
The Mullans represented Ireland in the 1999 Eurovision Song Contest in Jerusalem with the song "When You Need Me". Before Eurovision Eurosong 1999 Eurosong 1999 was the national final format developed by RTÉ in order to select Ireland's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 1999. The competition was held at the RTÉ Television Centre in Dublin on 7 March 1999 and hosted by Pat Kenny. Eight artists and songs were selected to compete which were presented on 9 January 1999 on the RTÉ programme ''Kenny Live''. Regional televoting determined the winner and after the combination of votes, "When You Need Me" performed by the Mullans was selected as the winner. For the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest held in Dublin, Ireland selected Marc Roberts to represent the country with the song "Mysterious Woman". Before Eurovision National final The final took place on 9 March 1997 at the Institute of Technology in Waterford, hosted by Pat Kenny. Eight entries competed in the final and the winner, "Mysterious Woman" performed by Marc Roberts, was determined by the votes of ten regional juries. Marc Roberts (singer-songwriter)
Seán Hegarty (born 25 June 1968), better known by his stage name Marc Roberts, is an Irish singer, best known for representing Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1997. His song, "Mysterious Woman", finished in second place and reached number two on the Irish Singles Chart. He is originally from Crossmolina, County Mayo, and now based in Galway, where he presents a local radio show as well as continuing his singing career. He has to date released six studio albums.
