Mysterious Woman
For the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest held in Dublin, Ireland selected Marc Roberts to represent the country with the song "Mysterious Woman". Before Eurovision National final The final took place on 9 March 1997 at the Institute of Technology in Waterford, hosted by Pat Kenny. Eight entries competed in the final and the winner, "Mysterious Woman" performed by Marc Roberts, was determined by the votes of ten regional juries. At Eurovision Ahead of the contest, Ireland were considered one of the favourites among bookmakers to win the contest for a second time, featuring alongside the entries from , , and . Seán Hegarty (born 25 June 1968), better known by his stage name Marc Roberts, is an Irish singer, best known for representing Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1997. His song, "Mysterious Woman", finished in second place and reached number two on the Irish Singles Chart. He is originally from Crossmolina, County Mayo, and now based in Galway, where he presents a local radio show as well as continuing his singing career. He has to date released six studio albums. The Eurovision Song Contest 1997 was the 42nd edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest, held on 3 May 1997 at the Point Theatre in Dublin, Ireland. Patrick Kenny (born 29 January 1948) is an Irish broadcaster, who currently hosts the daily radio show ''The Pat Kenny Show'' on Newstalk and the current affairs show ''Pat Kenny Tonight'' on Virgin Media One. Seán Ó Coistealbha (1930–2006) was an Irish poet and dramatist. Ó Coistealbha was born in Inverin, Connemara Connemara (; )( ga, Conamara ) is a region on the Atlantic coast of western County Galway, in the west of Ireland. Gary O'Shaughnessy is an Irish singer and musician who represented Ireland in Eurovision Song Contest 2001 with the song " Without Your Love" finishing 21st out of 23 entries. He's the uncle of Ryan O'Shaughnessy who represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. Biography He comes from a very musical family. His grandmother who was a gifted piano and fiddle player. Besides singing, he plays guitar, bass guitar and keyboards. His brother Brian and sister are musicians as well, with his brother playing guitar and his sister the piano.
