Hovhannes Davtyan ( hy, Հովհաննես Դավթյան, born November 25, 1983, in Leninakan, Armenian SSR) is a former judoka and current head coach of the Armenian Men's Judo Team. He fights in the under 60 kg category, and is very tall compared to the other fighters in his weight division. Early life Hovhannes Davtyan was born on November 25, 1983, in Leninakan, Armenian SSR (now Gyumri, Armenia). He began practicing judo at the age of 12 years under his current coach Karen Simonyan. Career Davtyan made his debut on the international stage in January 2005 at the World Cup in Tbilisi, where he took fifth place and left without a medal. Artur Davtyan ( hy, Արթուր Դավթյան, born August 8, 1992) is an Armenian gymnast. He is a member of the Armenia national team in gymnastics. Davtyan is a bronze medalist in the men's vault event at the 2020 Summer Olympics, World Championship Gold Medalist in men's vault, European Youth Champion, silver medalist in the World Cup and an Olympian. Early life Arthur Davtyan was born on August 8, 1992, in Yerevan, Armenia. In 1998, at the age of 7, he began to do gymnastics. Since 2008, he is a member of the Armenian national gymnastics team. Career Youth In 2009, at the Youth Olympic Festival in Tampere, Finland, Davtyan, along with fellow Armenians Vahan Vardanyan and Arthur Tovmasyan, took 6th place in the team event among 23 teams. Artak Matevosi Davtyan (Armenian: Արտակ Մաթևոսի Դավթյան; born March 31, 1970) is an Armenian Lieutenant General who served as the Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces from May 2018 to June 2020 and again from March 2021 to February 2022. Early life and military service Artak Davtyan was born in 1970 in the village of Bambakashat, in the Hoktemberyan region (now located in Armavir province) of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic. He took part in the First Nagorno-Karabakh War from 1988 to 1992, quickly rising through the ranks of the newly formed Armenian Army. Starting in 1992, Davtyan began to serve as either the commander or deputy commander of various military units. During that same time, he was also enrolled in military academies in Russia. Gevorg Davtyan ( hy, Գևորգ Դավթյան, born January 4, 1983, in Leninakan, Armenian SSR) is an Armenian weightlifter. Davtyan received the Master of Sport of Armenia, International Class title in 2001, Best Sportsman of Armenia award in 2007, and Honored Master of Sport of Armenia title in 2009. He is 165 cm tall. Biography Gevorg Davtyan started weightlifting in 1994 under the honored coach of Armenia, Vahan Bichakhchyan. Four years later, he won the Junior European Championship. Vahagn Davtyan () (August 15, 1922, Arabkir, Turkey – February 21, 1996, Yerevan) was an Armenian poet, translator, publicist and public activist. Biography He was born in the town of Arapgir in Turkey. Davtyan was a Renowned activist of culture (1971) and a Corresponding Member of Armenian National Academy (1986). He was also an editor ("Grakan tert", "Hayreniki dzayn", "Veradznvadz Hayastan"). From 1990 to 1994 he was the Chairman of the Writers' Union of Armenia.
