Crow (band)
Crow is an American blues rock band that was first active from 1967 to 1972. They are best known for the song " Evil Woman (Don't Play Your Games with Me)", which was notably covered by Black Sabbath (on their debut album) and Ike & Tina Turner. History Crow was formed in 1967 by singer David Wagner, guitarist Dick Wiegand, bassist Larry Wiegand, keyboardist Kink Middlemist, and drummer Harry Nehls under the name South 40, which was used until the group went national. Nehls was replaced by Denny Craswell at that time. Columbia Records brought them in to record a demo in 1969; they passed, and Crow was signed to Amaret Records. In 1969, Crow's debut album ''Crow Music'' was recorded. The single "Evil Woman (Don't Play Your Games With Me)" made the Top 40 of the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 that fall, peaking at No. 19 the following January. David Wagner (born March 4, 1974) is an American wheelchair tennis player. Paralyzed from the mid-chest down and with thirty percent function in his hands, he competes in the quad division. He plays by taping the tennis racket to his hand. He is currently ranked number three in the world in singles and number two in doubles. Early life Wagner was born in Fullerton, California, and grew up in Walla Walla, Washington. He played basketball in high school and tennis in college. He became a quadriplegic at age 21 while visiting a friend in Redondo Beach, California, during summer break. He and his friends were playing frisbee on the beach and Wagner began chasing after the frisbee through shallow water. He attempted to jump over a wave, but the wave caught his feet, spun him around, and he landed head-first in the sand, leaving him paralyzed. David Wagner (December 31, 1826 – August 4, 1902) was a justice of the Supreme Court of Missouri from 1865 to 1877. Born in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, Wagner came to Missouri in 1842 and was admitted to the bar in 1848.L. C. Krauthoff, ''The Supreme Court of Missouri'', in Horace Williams Fuller, ed., '' The Green Bag'' (1891), Vol. 3, p. 180-81.
