David Steffen
David Steffen is an American politician and businessman. He represents Wisconsin's 4th Assembly district, which includes parts of Green Bay, Howard, Allouez and Ashwaubenon. Education A native of Green Bay, Wisconsin, David Steffen graduated from Ashwaubenon High School and received his bachelor's degree from University of Wisconsin–Madison in political science. Pre-political career Steffen spent twelve years in the education and non-profit sectors, most notably as the Director of Operations for the Legislative Leadership Institute Academy of Foreign Affairs in partnership with the Irish American University located in Dublin, Ireland. Steffen had operational responsibilities in Dublin, Ireland; Bern, Switzerland; Tbilisi, Georgia; Baku, Azerbaijan and Kigali, Rwanda. He currently serves as a member of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition on the Wisconsin Advisory Committee. Wisconsin's 4th Assembly District
The 4th Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in northeast Wisconsin, the district comprises part of central Brown County, including the villages of Ashwaubenon and Allouez, and parts of the city of Green Bay and the village of Howard. The district also contains Lambeau Field (home of the Green Bay Packers) and historic Allouez Catholic Cemetery and Woodlawn Cemetery. The district is represented by Republican David Steffen, since January 2015. Brown County is a county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 268,740, making it the fourth-most populous county in Wisconsin. The county seat is Green Bay, making it one of three Wisconsin counties on Lake Michigan not to have a county seat with the same name. Brown County is part of the Green Bay, WI Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Brown County is one of Wisconsin's two original counties, along with Crawford County. It originally spanned the entire eastern half of the state when formed by the Michigan Territorial legislature in 1818. Wisconsin State Assembly
The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Representatives are elected for two-year terms, elected during the fall elections. If a vacancy occurs in an Assembly seat between elections, it may be filled only by a special election. The Wisconsin Constitution limits the size of the State Assembly to between 54 and 100 members inclusive. Since 1973, the state has been divided into 99 Assembly districts apportioned amongst the state based on population as determined by the decennial census, for a total of 99 representatives.
