David Starie
David Starie (born 11 June 1974) is a British former professional boxer who competed from 1994 to 2003. He challenged twice for world championships; the WBO super middleweight title in 2000 and the unified WBA (Super) and IBF super middleweight titles in 2003. At regional level, he held the British super middleweight title twice; first in 1997 and again from 1998 to 2001, and also held the Commonwealth super middleweight title from 1998 to 2002. Professional career Known as "Jedi", Starie won the British super middleweight title when he stopped Sam Storey in 1997. Starie was stopped three months later by Dean Francis. Ali Forbes (born 7 March 1961) is British former boxer who was British super middleweight champion in 1995 and fought for the World Boxing Federation light heavyweight world title in 2000. Career Born in London, Ali Forbes began his professional career in February 1989 at the age of 28 with a win over David Haycock. Unbeaten in his first seven fights he suffered his first defeat in March 1992 when he challenged Ian Strudwick for the BBBofC Southern Area super middleweight title, losing on points. Eddie Hearn
Edward John Hearn (born 8 June 1979) is a British sports promoter who is chairman of Matchroom Sport and Professional Darts Corporation. Hearn is the son of promoter Barry Hearn, the founder of Matchroom Sport. Education Hearn was a student at the independent Brentwood School, Essex. He failed to get into sixth form at Brentwood School as he performed poorly on his GCSEs. Hearn played cricket and football to a high standard, and his father Barry petitioned the school to let him stay on for his sporting record, but the school refused. Hearn said, "I grew up thinking I was a hard nut and in Brentwood School I was. Anywhere else I was a pansy." He then went to Havering Sixth Form College in Hornchurch, which was not selective. Prizefighter Series
The Prizefighter series was a professional boxing tournament created by boxing promoter Barry Hearn and aired on Sky Sports. The format has an initial eight fighters, who compete in four quarter-finals of rounds (number and length of the rounds is same as in amateur boxing) followed by two semi-finals and one final all on the same night. The total prize money of the tournament is £80,000 with the winner of the tournament taking home £32,000, a figure that has increased from the initial top prize of £25,000 when the tournament first aired in April 2008. There have been 34 Prizefighter tournaments so far featuring 14 different weight divisions. The last tournament was held in 2015.
