David Vern Reed (born David Levine; 13 December 1914 – 11 August 1994), was an American writer, best known for his work on the ''Batman'' comic book during the 1950s in a run that included a revamp of the Batplane in ''Batman'' #61 and the introduction of Deadshot in ''Batman'' #59 (July 1950). Biography Born David Levine in New York City in 1914, David Vern Reed grew up to become a writer, with his work appearing under several Anglicized pseudonyms, amongst them David Vern, Coram Nobis, Alexander Blade, Craig Ellis, Clyde Woodruff, and Peter Horn. In the 1940s, he wrote such science fiction stories as the novella "The Metal Monster Murders" in ''Mammoth Detective'' (vol. 3) #4 (Nov. 1944). He was hired to write comic book scripts by his friend, Julius Schwartz, an editor at DC Comics. David Reed (bishop)
David Benson Reed (February 16, 1927 – March 11, 2023) was the first Bishop of Colombia and the sixth Bishop of Kentucky in the Episcopal Church. Early life and education Reed was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on February 16, 1927, to Paul Spencer Reed and Bonnie Frances Taylor. He graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1948, and then with a Bachelor of Divinity from the Virginia Theological Seminary in 1951. Ordained ministry Reed was ordained deacon in 1951. He then left for Costa Rica where he served at the Church of the Good Shepherd in San José. He was then ordained priest on February 14, 1952, by Reginald Heber Gooden, Bishop of the Panama Canal Zone in St Luke's Cathedral, Ancón, Panama. Between 1952 and 1958 he served numerous parishes in the Panama Canal Zone and Colombia. Murder Of David Reed
David Wellington Reed (17 January 1972 – 21 August 1985) was a 13-year-old boy in the seventh grade at Schuylkill Haven Area Middle School, who was murdered in 1985 by then 20-year-old Joseph "Joe" Geiger in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania, United States over Geiger's stolen illegally grown cannabis plants. Geiger blamed Reed for the disappearance of the drug. Friends, family, and teachers remember Reed as an outgoing person who aspired to fly. Reed's death remained unsolved for 23 years, until the case was reopened in 2005 by the Schuylkill Haven police department. Geiger was arrested in 2008 on the 23rd anniversary of Reed's death and was found guilty of third-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, evidence tampering, and abuse of corpse, among other offenses. David Reed (1747 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania – September 30, 1824 in Washington County, Pennsylvania) was an American pioneer in the early history of Pennsylvania. David Reed (born August 21, 1988, in Teaneck, New Jersey) is an American soccer player who is currently without a club. Career College and amateur From Teaneck, New Jersey, Reed attended Paramus Catholic High School, and played four years of college soccer at Johns University. He played 84 games in his college career at St. John's without scoring a goal; as a senior in 2009 he anchored the defense that registered a school-record and nation-leading 16 shutouts. Brandon David Reed (born March 22, 1987) is a former American football wide receiver. He played college football at Utah and was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. David Reed (24 April 1945 – 12 March 2017) was a Labour politician in the United Kingdom. In 1970, he was elected at the age of 25 as Member of Parliament (MP) for Sedgefield in County Durham. However, the constituency was abolished for the February 1974 general election, and Reed did not subsequently return to Parliament. In that redistribution Sedgefield itself was transferred to the redrawn Durham constituency, which was held for Labour by Mark Hughes, who had entered parliament alongside Reed at the previous general election in 1970.
