David Ogden (politician)
David Kevin Ogden (born 1944) is a former mayor of Lower Hutt in the Wellington region of New Zealand. Biography Ogden was born in Newtown, Wellington, in 1944. He grew up in Miramar and attended Miramar North School and later Wellington High School where he was a prefect. After briefly considering architecture he studied accountancy at Victoria University. He did not graduate but became a chartered accountant working at Fletcher Construction. He later became head of finance at TV1. He is a justice of the peace. He first stood for political office in 1980 and was elected to the Lower Hutt City Council on the United Citizens ticket of then-mayor John Kennedy-Good. Re-elected in 1983, he chose not to stand again in 1986 to focus on accountancy. In 1992 he was elected to the Wellington Regional Council before failing in re-election bids in 1995 and 1998. David Ogden, (born 1966 in Tring in Hertfordshire) is a conductor and composer, directing choirs, choral and church music workshops, courses and festivals in the UK and abroad. Conducting Between 1991 and 2002, he was Director of Music at Clifton Cathedral, Bristol, and from 1995 to 2001 he was Regional Director of the Royal School of Church Music for the South West and Midlands. He conducts Exultate Singers, City of Bristol Choir, Royal Mail Choir, is the Head of the Bristol Choral Centre and Director of Music at Westbury-on-Trym parish church in Bristol. He was conductor of the RSCM Millennium Youth Choir from 2005 to 2014. David Ayres Depue Ogden (October 16, 1897 – November 26, 1969) was a United States Army Lieutenant General. He was noteworthy for his command of the 3rd Engineer Special Brigade during World War II, the Ryukyus Command in the early 1950s, and his culminating assignment as the US Army's Inspector General. Early life Ogden was born in Newark, New Jersey, and was named for his maternal grandfather, New Jersey Supreme Court justice David Ayres Depue. He graduated from the Kent School and attended Princeton University before transferring to the United States Military Academy. He graduated in 1918 and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Engineers. World War I After receiving his commission Ogden carried out an observation tour of Europe at the end of World War I, after which he completed the Engineer Officer Course at Camp Humphreys, Virginia.
