David Kimutai Rotich
David Kimutai Rotich (born 19 August 1969), is a race walker from Kenya. He is an African Champion, All-Africa Games winner, Commonwealth Games medalist and has competed twice at the Olympics. Kimutai was born in Sotik. He began his athletics career by competing in long distance running, particularly 10000 metres, but without much success. He then switched to race walking Racewalking, or race walking, is a long-distance discipline within the sport of athletics. David Kimutai Too
David Kimutai Too (August 23, 1968 – January 31, 2008) was a Kenyan politician affiliated to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). He was a high school teacher and then a principal from Kericho in Rift Valley, Kenya before being elected to the National Assembly from Ainamoi Constituency from a field of 13 candidates in the December 2007 parliamentary election. Charles Keter, a fellow Member of Parliament, described Too as "a very humble, quiet man." The "List of alleged perpetrators" of the 2007/2008 post-electoral violence of the Kenya National Human Rights Commission however lists him among the suspects on place 3 (page 180) and charges him with "planning, incitement, and financing the violence". Death Hon Too was shot dead by Andrew Moache, a policeman, on January 31, 2008. Athletics At The 1999 All-Africa Games
The seventh All-Africa Games were held in September 1999 in Johannesburg, South Africa. As the track is at an altitude of 1748 metres all performances are considered to be set at altitude, this is believed to assist events up to 400 metres and in the long jump and triple jump. However, for events beyond 800 metres the thinner air is believed to have a detrimental effect on performances. Maria de Lurdes Mutola of Mozambique won her third 800 metres title in a row. Nigeria won all four relay races; 4 × 100 metres and 4 × 400 metres for men and women. South African athletes won all four throwing events for men.
