David Jones (footballer, Born 1935)
David Jones, also known as ''Dai'' (3 March 1935 – 3 July 2014) was an English professional association football, footballer who played as a Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper. Career Jones was born in Orpington and was in the Army before signing for Swansea City A.F.C., Swansea Town in 1955. He made three appearances for the club in the Football League, as well as two cup appearances. He then played for Yeovil Town F.C., Yeovil Town, making 363 appearances for them between 1958 and 1967. While with Yeovil he won the Southern League Cup and Southern League Premier Division, and at the time of the death he was ranked twelfth in Yeovil Town's all-time appearance list. Later life Jones retired due to injury in 1967, becoming the coach of the Yeovil Town youth team. He later worked as a sales rep and ran his own shop. Orpington
Orpington is a town and area in south east London, England, within the London Borough of Bromley. It is 13.4 miles (21.6 km) south east of Charing Cross. Yeovil Town F
Yeovil ( ) is a town and civil parish in the district of South Somerset, England. The population of Yeovil at the last census (2011) was 45,784. More recent estimates show a population of 48,564. It is close to Somerset's southern border with Dorset, from London, south of Bristol, from Sherborne and from Taunton. The Football League
The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. It was the top-level football league in England from its foundation until 1992, when the top 22 clubs split from it to form the Premier League.
