David Hassett
David Lindsay Hassett (born 3 December 1947) is an Australian politician. He was born in Frankston to cabinet maker Edward John Hassett and Daphne Marie Hailwood. After attending local state schools, he became an officer with the Commonwealth Bank in 1966. On 10 December 1968, he married Denise Lesley Smith, with whom he had two children. They divorced in 2004, and Hassett married Vera Elizabeth Jones on 14 July 2005. Hassett was treasurer of the Labor Party's Flinders federal electorate assembly in 1977, and served as secretary of the Mornington party branch from 1978 to 1979. In 1982, he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly as the Labor member for Dromana, but was defeated in 1985. He then attended Monash University, where he received a Diploma of Education-Primary in 1987, and Deakin University, where he qualified as a mathematics and computing teacher in 1992. Frankston is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Frankston local government area. The Australian Labor Party (Victorian Branch), commonly known as Victorian Labor, is the semi-autonomous Victorian branch of the Australian Labor Party (ALP). Roberts Christian "Bob" Dunstan DSO (5 November 1922 – 11 October 1989) was an Australian soldier and aviator during the Second World War. Ronald James Herbert "Ron" Wells (born 22 September 1935) is a former Australian politician. He was born in Cardiff, New South Wales, to Cecil Wells, a businessman, and Mildred, ''née'' Tombs. He received a Higher Diploma in Accounting (Honours) from the University of Western Sydney in 1954, a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours) from Sydney University in 1959, a PhD from Cambridge University in 1964, and a Master of Veterinary Science from Melbourne University in 1970. He served in the RAAF from 1955 to 1956 and worked as a veterinarian in 1960 before going to Cambridge. On his return in 1965 he was a foundation senior lecturer at the University of Melbourne's School of Veterinary Science, holding that position until 1985.
