David Currie (broadcaster)
David Currie (born 1967) is a Scottish television presenter and journalist who currently presents ''Sportscene'' on BBC Scotland, alongside Jonathan Sutherland. He also appears on the sport section of BBC Reporting Scotland. Currie's earliest job was as Jim Traynor's sidekick on ''Your Call'' on BBC Radio Scotland. He began presenting ''Sportscene'' in August 2005. ''Sportscene'' is the name of a range of Scottish sports television programmes produced by BBC Scotland. History ''Sportscenes predecessors were ''Sports Special from Scotland'' and ''Sportsreel'', which was broadcast every Saturday at around 5pm (results and reports) and 10pm (highlights) in the 1950s and 1960s. By the 1970s, a ''Sportscene'' format of a 5pm programme called ''Scoreboard'' presented by Gordon Hewitt (as a regional opt-out from ''Grandstand (TV series), Grandstand)'', plus a 10pm show with highlights from one English and one Scottish league or cup match, was established. Jonathan Sutherland
Jonathan Sutherland (born 1977) is a Scottish television and radio presenter and producer, currently the main presenter of BBC Scotland's Sunday night ''Sportscene'' on BBC One Scotland. He occasionally hosts the ''Sportscene'' Results show on Saturday afternoons and regularly appears on ''Reporting Scotland''. Education Sutherland was born in Brae in the Shetland Islands. He left the islands to study politics at Aberdeen University and subsequently graduated with his degree in 1999 before landing a job at BBC Radio Shetland. Early career His first taste of journalism was with Radio Shetland, but he left in 2003 to build his career. James Traynor (born 27 September 1953) is a Scottish former sports journalist and former Director of Communications at Rangers F.C. Prior to joining the Glasgow club, Traynor was employed by the Scottish newspaper the '' Daily Record''. He was also presenter of BBC Radio Scotland's football-based phone-in show ''Your Call''. Traynor was also a pundit on the ''Superscoreboard'' show on Radio Clyde for the 2000–2001 season. BBC Radio Scotland is a Scottish radio network owned and operated by BBC Scotland, a division of the BBC. It broadcasts a wide variety of programmes.
