David B. Robertson is a former Michigan State Senator, representing the 14th district (formerly numbered as the 26th) from 2011 until 2019. Michigan's 14th Senate district is one of 38 districts in the Michigan Senate. It has been represented by Democratic Sue Shink since 2023, succeeding Republican Ruth Johnson. Geography District 14 encompasses all of Jackson County, as well as part of Washtenaw County. 2011 Apportionment Plan District 14, as dictated by the 2011 Apportionment Plan, was split between southern Genesee County outside of Flint and northwestern Oakland County in the exurbs of Detroit. Deborah Cherry
Deb Cherry (born August 19, 1954) is a former Democratic member of the Michigan Senate, representing the 26th district until she was elected Genesee County treasurer in 2010. Michigan's 26th Senate district is one of 38 districts in the Michigan Senate. The 26th district was created by the 1850 Michigan Constitution, as the 1835 constitution only permitted a maximum of eight senate districts. It has been represented by Republican Kevin Daley since 2023, succeeding fellow Republican Aric Nesbitt. Michigan Senate
The Michigan Senate is the upper house of the Michigan Legislature. Along with the Michigan House of Representatives, it composes the state legislature, which has powers, roles and duties defined by Article IV of the Michigan Constitution, adopted in 1963. The primary purpose of the Legislature is to enact new laws and amend or repeal existing laws. The Michigan Senate is composed of 38 members, each elected from a single-member district with a population of between approximately 212,400 to 263,500 residents. Legislative districts are drawn on the basis of population figures, provided by the federal decennial census. Senators' terms begin immediately upon their election.
