1985 PGA Tour Qualifying School Graduates
This is a list of the 1985 PGA Tour Qualifying School graduates. Fifty players earned their 1986 PGA Tour card through Q-School in 1985. The tournament was played over 108 holes at the Grenelefe Golf and Tennis Resort, West and South courses, in Haines City, Florida. The top 50 players split the $100,000 purse, with the winner earning $15,000. Peter McWhinney lost a six-for-five playoff for the last cards. Burmese golfer Kyi Hla Han was trying to become the second Burmese, after Mya Aye, to make it onto the PGA Tour. However, he was unable to move onto the finals, playing poorly in the final round of his regional qualifying tournament in California. The Masters Tournament (usually referred to as simply The Masters, or the U.S. Masters outside North America) is one of the four major championships in professional golf. Terry Price (golfer)
Terry Price (born 27 December 1960) is an Australian professional golfer. Early life Price was born in Rockhampton, Queensland. Professional career Price turned professional in 1978 at age 17, joined the PGA Tour of Australasia in 1986. He won his first tournament in 1988 at the non-Order of Merit Queensland PGA Championship. He has since won five Order of Merit titles on the tour, in addition to several more victories both in Australia and internationally. Price has also played on the European Tour. He played three seasons in the early 1990s, finishing just inside the top 100 on the Order of Merit in 1994 and 1995, before losing his card at the end of 1996. He returned to the European Tour in 2003 via qualifying school, but had to revisit at the end of the season to regain his card. } Matthew John Gogel (born February 9, 1971) is an American professional golfer and golf commentator who currently plays on the PGA Tour Champions. He previously played on the PGA Tour and the Nike Tour. Gogel was born in Denver, Colorado and grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he attended Bishop Kelley High School. He has lived most of his adult life in Kansas. He attended the University of Kansas, and was a member of the golf team. He turned pro in 1994 and joined the PGA Tour in 2000. Gogel played in Asia early in his professional career and on the Nike Tour (which later became known as the Nationwide Tour). Scott Petersen (born July 4, 1970) is an American professional golfer. Career Petersen was born in Williston, North Dakota. Bradley Howell Ott (born December 29, 1969) is an American professional golfer who played on the Nationwide Tour. Ott joined the Nationwide Tour in 1996. In his rookie season he recorded three top-10 finishes including a runner-up finish. He then took a hiatus from the Tour and rejoined in 2002. In his return to the Tour he recorded two top-10 finished and a runner-up finish. He picked up his first win on Tour in 2004 at the Price Cutter Charity Championship. He played on the Nationwide Tour until 2008, never reaching the PGA Tour. Ott played on the Sunshine Tour in 1995 and 1996 and won the 1995 Hollard Royal Swazi Sun Classic.
