Dave Randall (musician)
Dave Randall is a British musician and writer. He is best known for his work as guitarist with Faithless and for his own band, Slovo. His playing credits include Sinéad O'Connor, Dido, Emiliana Torrini and 1 Giant Leap. He is author of the book ''Sound System – The Political Power of Music'' (Pluto Press 2017). He previously lives in Brixton, South London, however now lives in Bristol Musical biography Randall played guitar with Faithless from 1996–1999 and 2004–2011. He is also founder of the South London based music collective Slovo, who have released three albums: ''nommo'' (2002), ''TodoCambia'' (2007), and ''Bread & Butterflies'' (2020). A largely acoustic and instrumental solo album, ''Eight Stories'', was released under the artist name Randall in 2004. He joined vocalist Mike Ladd, percussionist Dirk Rothbrust and clarinettist Carol Robinson in the Paris-based experimental band Sleeping In Vilna. Faithless (band)
Faithless are an English band that formed in 1995, with its core members being Rollo, Sister Bliss and Maxi Jazz. Their first album, '' Reverence'', was released in 1996 and their most recent, ''All Blessed'', in 2020. They have sold millions of physical records, and their catalogue was uploaded to streaming sites in 2018. Socialist Workers Party (Britain)
The Socialist Workers Party (SWP) is a far-left political party in the United Kingdom. Founded as the Socialist Review Group by supporters of Tony Cliff in 1950, it became the International Socialists in 1962 and the SWP in 1977. The party considers itself to be Trotskyist. Cliff and his followers criticised the Soviet Union and its satellites, calling them state capitalist rather than socialist countries. The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) is an activist organisation in England and Wales. It was incorporated in the UK in 2004 as Palestine Solidarity Campaign Ltd. People's Assembly Against Austerity
The People's Assembly Against Austerity (also known as The People's Assembly) is a political organisation based in the United Kingdom that was originally set up to end and reverse the country's government-instituted austerity programme. The People's Assembly was launched in 2013 in order to bring together the various progressive left trade unions, campaigns and activists in a movement against austerity. It aimed to "push the arguments against austerity" that it saw as missing from British politics at that time, and to fight for those people it saw as being hit by Government policies, including low-paid workers, disabled people, unemployed people, the young, black, minority and ethnic groups and women. Love Music Hate Racism (LMHR) is a music-oriented antiracism campaign based in Britain. The campaign aims to bring people together and promote unity through the power of music. LMHR was born in the tradition of the Rock Against Racism (RAR) movement of the late 1970s. The campaign held many successful festivals in the early 2000s such as a Victoria Park carnival and at Stoke Britannia Stadium, at which tens of thousands of people attended and international artists performed. Slovo is a south London based music collective founded by former Faithless guitarist Dave Randall. Their latest line up includes the Italian singer Barbarella (Barbara Pugliese of Barbarella's Bang Bang) and US hip-hop artist Mike Ladd, who both contribute to the album ''Bread & Butterflies'' which was released 17 July 2020. The group has previously released two other studio albums: ''nommo (2002)'' and ''Todo Cambia (2007)''.
