Colorist
In comics, a colorist is responsible for adding color to black-and-white line art. For most of the 20th century this was done using brushes and dyes which were then used as guides to produce the printing plates. Since the late 20th century it is most often done using digital media, with printing separations produced electronically. Although most American colorists work directly for comics publishers (either as employees or freelancers), there are a few coloring studios which offer their services to publishers. American Color, Olyoptics, Digital Chameleon were the companies notable in this field. History Originally, comics were colored by cutting out films of various densities in the appropriate shapes to be used in producing color-separated printing plates. X-wing Rogue Squadron (comics)
The X-wing starfighter is a name applied to a family of fictional spacecraft manufactured by the Incom Corporation from the ''Star Wars'' franchise. Named for the distinctive shape made when its s-foils (wings) are in attack position, the X-wing was a class of starfighter used by the Rebel Alliance in their conflict with the Galactic Empire. It made its theatrical debut, as the T-65B model, in ''Star Wars'' (1977) as the spacecraft piloted by Luke Skywalker and the Red Squadron when Luke destroyed the Death Star. The starfighter featured extensively in the ''Star Wars'' original trilogy and in the Expanded Universe that followed, and has been merchandised as a variety of toys and models. ''Star Wars Tales'' is a comic book series published by Dark Horse Comics, beginning on September 29, 1999, and completing its run on July 13, 2005. Each issue is 64 pages and features a few unrelated stories from various eras of the ''Star Wars'' timeline. ''Dark Horse Presents'' was a comic book published by American company Dark Horse Comics from 1986. Their first published series, it was their flagship title until its September 2000 cancellation. The second incarnation was published on MySpace, running from July 2007 until August 2010. A third incarnation began in April 2011, released in print form once again. ''Barb Wire'' is a superhero published by Comics Greatest World, an imprint of Dark Horse Comics. The character first appeared in ''Comics' Greatest World: Steel Harbor'' in 1993. ''Agents of Law'' was a series published by Dark Horse Comics in 1995. It followed the story of Law, a powerful individual of dubious motives who took over Golden City after the events of ''Will to Power'', which was the big event of the in-house Dark Horse line of superhero comics during the summer of 1994. It was a continuation of '' Catalyst: Agents of Change''. Despite massive hype by the publishing company prior to its release the series ultimately failed to survive the withering market of the time and the choice by Dark Horse to scale back their line of superhero comics, which had only recently been renamed.
