Darren Harris (footballer Born 1968)
Darren Harris (born 18 July 1968) is a former Australian rules football coach and player, who spent significant parts of his career in the Australian Football League, West Australian Football League, and Ovens & Murray Football League. Playing career Harris never played football at a national level, and his career at the state level was short but memorable. He played primarily as a rover/midfielder. From country Victoria, he played his early senior football for the Wodonga Football Club, Wodonga Bulldogs in the Ovens & Murray Football League, winning a premiership there in 1987. Harris moved to Bendigo in 1988 to complete a degree in primary school teaching. During his three years in Bendigo, Harris played for Golden Square Football Club, Golden Square in the Bendigo Football League, winning premierships there in 1988 and 1989. The Wodonga Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Bulldogs'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the city of Wodonga, Victoria. History Wodonga's first recorded match was against the Albury Football Club on Saturday, 6 July 1878 in Wodonga. Between 1878 and 1891, Wodonga played many intermittent friendly matches against other local club's and towns, before organised fixtures and competitions were starting to be arranged from the early 1890s. In 1886, the Wodonga Junior Football Club played Chiltern in a very rough match, with T Powell captaining the winning Wodonga side and in 1887, Wodonga Junior's journeyed to and were beaten by Chiltern. The Subiaco Football Club, nicknamed the Lions and known before 1973 as the ''Maroons'', is an Australian rules football club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW). It was founded in 1896, and admitted to the WAFL in 1901, along with North Fremantle. The club is currently based at Leederville Oval, having previously played at Subiaco Oval. Robert Hyde (footballer)
Robert Hyde (born 1 November 1954) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with the Collingwood and Essendon football teams in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1970s. Playing career Hyde played 63 senior VFL football games between 1973 and 1979. A defender, Hyde won the Copeland Trophy in 1976 for Collingwood's best and fairest player. Hyde played for Collingwood in both the drawn 1977 VFL Grand Final and the Grand Final replay the following week. He finished his career with Essendon. Coaching career Hyde coached Greensborough to Diamond Valley Football League premierships in 1983 and 1984, and then spent time coaching North Old Boys in the Victorian Amateur Football Association. Northern Blues
The Preston Football Club, which trades and plays as the Northern Bullants, is a long-established Australian rules football club based in Preston that plays in the Victorian Football League (VFL). It plays its home games at the Preston City Oval. The club was established in 1882 as the Preston Football Club. The club participated in the Victorian Football Association (VFA) between 1903 and 1911, and then since 1926. After World War II, the club was known as the Bullants, and wore a plain red guernsey with a white monogram. The club later became the Northern Bullants.
