Darren Fay
Darren Fay (born 11 April 1976 in Meath) is a former Gaelic footballer who played for the Meath county team. He is regarded as the latest in a long line of accomplished Meath full-backs, following the likes of Mick Lyons, Jack Quinn, Paddy O'Brien and Tommy "The Boiler" McGuinness. He plays club football for Trim. He came to prominence in 1996 when he won an All-Ireland senior medal in his first season as a Meath regular first team player. In 1999 he won his second All-Ireland medal. He is also the holder of 3 Leinster Senior medals. Fay has won 3 All Star awards. For the 2006 season Fay made himself unavailable for the Meath team but he returned to the Meath panel for the 2007 season. On 23 July 2008 Fay confirmed his retirement after a defeat to Limerick. He was a selector when Barry Callaghan managed the Meath under-20 team. Meath County Football Team
The Meath county football team represents Meath in men's Gaelic football and is governed by Meath GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Leinster Senior Football Championship and the National Football League. Meath's home ground is Páirc Tailteann, Navan. The team's manager is Colm O'Rourke. The team last won the Leinster Senior Championship in 2010, the All-Ireland Senior Championship in 1999 and the National League in 1994. Leinster Under-21 Football Championship
The Leinster GAA Football Under-20 Championship, known simply as the Leinster Under-20 Championship, is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Leinster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county football competition for male players between the ages of 17 and 20 in the province of Leinster. The championship was contested as the Leinster Under-21 Championship between 1964 and 2016 before changing to an under-20 age category from 2018. It is sponsored by EirGrid. The final, currently held in July, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during a five to six-week period, and the results determine which team receives the Flood Cup. The GPA Gaelic Team of the Year known for sponsorship reason as The Opel Gaelic Team of the Year awards were an awards ceremony to honour the performances of Gaelic Athletic Association players. The National Football League (NFL; ga, Sraith Náisiúnta Peile) is an annual Gaelic football competition between the senior county teams of Ireland plus London. Sponsored by Allianz, it is officially known as the Allianz National Football League. The Gaelic Athletic Association organises the league. The winning team receives the New Ireland Cup, presented by the New Ireland Assurance Company. The National Football League is the second most prestigious inter-county Gaelic Football competition after the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. Leinster Minor Football Championship
The Leinster Minor Football Championship is the premier under-17 "knockout" competition in gaelic football played in the province of Leinster. 2017 was the final year of the minor under 18 football championship as it were replaced by an under 17 championship following a vote at the GAA congress on 26 February 2016. The current Leinster champions are Meath. The Leinster minor football championship is known as Fr. Larry Murray Trophy. The Cup is named after Fr.
