Darla Jean Hood (November 8, 1931 – June 13, 1979) was an American child actress, best known as the leading lady in the ''Our Gang'' series from 1935 to 1941. She was born in Leedey, Oklahoma, the only child of music teacher Elizabeth Davner, and James Claude Hood, who worked in a bank. ''Our Gang'' Hood's mother introduced her to singing and dancing at an early age, taking her to lessons in Oklahoma City. Just after her third birthday she was taken to New York City, where she was seen by Joe Rivkin, a casting director for Hal Roach Studios, who arranged a screen test. She was then taken to Culver City, California, to appear in the ''Our Gang'' movies. She played ''Darla'' in ''Our Gang'' except for her Our Gang debut in which her character's name was "Cookie". She made her debut at age four in the 1935 film ''Our Gang Follies of 1936'' and was soon given a role in ''The Bohemian Girl'' with Laurel and Hardy. Darla Dee Moore (born August 1, 1954) is an American investor and philanthropist. She is the former president and a partner of the private investment firm Rainwater Inc. and was married to Richard Rainwater, who founded the firm. Early life and education Moore was born in Lake City, South Carolina, to Eugene and Loraine Moore. She was one of two daughters and was born on a farm that produced cotton, soybean, and tobacco. Her father was a schoolteacher and coach and her mother worked at the Methodist Church. In 1972, Moore completed her high school education from Lake City High school. Darla Vandenbossche (born 1963) is a Canadian actress. Career Despite playing roles in high school theatre productions, it was not until she was 36 years old that Vandenbossche decided to pursue acting as a career. After working as a preschool teacher and a childcare counsellor with the Surrey School District for a decade each, and as a youth counsellor for homeless children and a youth recreation leader, she joined a theatre group in Vancouver. Her first play was ''Beyond Therapy'', and she featured in a number of other productions including '' Four Dogs and a Bone''. After four years of acting with the theatre group, she found herself an agent and began to attend auditions for roles in television and film. Although she found little success at first, rejected for the majority of her auditions, she was offered a number of small roles, the first of which was a 2004 episode of the television series ''Da Vinci's Inquest'''s seventh season. Darla is a recurring fictional character created by Joss Whedon and played by Julie Benz in the first, second, and fifth seasons of the American supernatural television series ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer''. The Warlock’s Daughter is a fictional character that appears in the comic books published by DC Comics. Created by Bill Willingham and Rick Mays, the Warlock’s Daughter first appears in ''Robin'' (vol. 2) #121 (February 2004). The Marvel Family, also known as the Shazam Family (or "Shazamily"), are a group of superheroes who originally appeared in books published by Fawcett Comics and were later acquired by DC Comics.
