Darkest White
''Darkest White'' is the seventh and final full-length album by the Norwegian gothic metal band Tristania. It is the second Tristania album to feature Mariangela Demurtas and Kjetil Nordhus on vocals. Overview The demo that gave birth to the final version of the songs in ''Darkest White'' were produced between June and September 2012. Soon after, the band readjusted the songs by themselves, in an improvised studio at Ole Vistnes' apartment, between September and December 2012. In January 2013, the band entered the studio to make the definitive recordings of the album, finishing in less than a month, the band's shortest recording period so far. Early April, the band announced ''Darkest White'' official track list. Critical reception The album was critically well received, and often considered the "real come back" for the band after former vocalist Vibeke Stene departure, in 2007. Vibeke Stene
Vibeke Stene (born 17 August 1978) is a Norwegian soprano and actress. She is best known as a former member of the gothic metal band Tristania, which she joined in 1996 and appears with on five albums. as the band became "one of the world's premiere goth metal bands". In 2007, Stene left Tristania and temporarily retired from the music industry to start a family and teach singing. In 2013, Stene came out of retirement with a guest appearance for the band God of Atheists. She later worked in musical theater and then formed the doom metal band Veil of Secrets. Bernt André Moen (born 17 February 1974) is a Norwegian musician. He is known as a jazz pianist, composer and music teacher. Career Moen was born in Kristiansand. He has been involved in a series of metal bands, and is now associate professor in performing rhythmic piano at the University of Agder. Within his own studio ("Studio 3014") and own label (BAM Records), he made his debut as solo artist in 2011, with three album releases, ''Closure'' featuring recordings from the period 2006–10, together with Fredrik Sahlander (bass) and Trygve Tambs-Lychè (drums), except the uptempo avalanche "FXG", where Geir Åge Johnsen takes care of the drums.
