Daraundi River
The Daraudi River (or Daraundi Khola) is a river in Nepal. It is a left tributary of the Marshyangdi river, which in turn joins the Trishuli River. Hydroelectricity The flow from the Daraudi River is used to generate 6 MW electricity at the Daraudi A Hydropower Plant located in the former Muchok, Takumajh Lakuribot and Saurpani VDCs of Gorkha District. The plant has a catchment area upstream from the intake of , and long-term annual average flow at this point of . It was assumed that the Daraundu hydropower project and dam would obstruct migration of fish up the river and severely reduce their population. Lower section Rainfall station No. 441 is at Naya Sanghu in the Daraundi basin, with a catchment area of . The runoff-rainfall ratio is 1.03. Marshyangdi River
The Marshyangdi (or Marsyangdi) ( Nepali: , marśyāṅdī) is a mountain river in Nepal. Its length is about 150 kilometres. The Marshyangdi begins at the confluence of two mountain rivers, the Khangsar Khola and Jharsang Khola, northwest of the Annapurna massif at an altitude of 3600 meters near Manang village. The Marshyangdi flows eastward through Manang District and then southward through Lamjung District. Marshyangdi river has great potentiality for hydropower purpose and also for entertainment purpose such as rafting, kayaking. Trishuli River
The Trishuli River ( ne, त्रिशूली नदी) is one of the major tributaries of the Narayani River basin in central Nepal. It originates in Tibet as a stream and enters Nepal at Gyirong Town. Etymology The Trishuli is named after the '' trishula'' or trident of Shiva, the most powerful god in the Hindu pantheon, There is a legend that says high in the Himalayas at Gosaikunda, Shiva drove his trident into the ground to create three springs – the source of the river and hence its name Trisuli. Course The stream in Tibet crosses the Nepalese border at Gyirong Town, with the Kyirong gorge opens out at Ragma (3000 m). Thereafter, it flows through Nepal and joins at Devghat the Narayani River, which at a lower stage flows into India and joins the Ganges. Daraundi A Hydropower Station (or Daraudi A; ne, दरौदी A जलविद्युत आयोजना) is a 6 MW run-of-river hydro-electric plant located on the Daraundi River in the Gorkha District of Nepal. Gorkha District
