Danylo Siianytsia
Danylo Siianytsia ( uk, Данило Сіяниця; born September 9, 2000) is a Ukrainian-born pair skater who represents the United States. With his skating partner, Anastasiia Smirnova, he is the 2022 CS Golden Spin of Zagreb champion. They are also the 2021 U.S. junior national champions and finished in the top ten at two World Junior Championships. Personal life Siianytsia was born on September 9, 2000, in Dnipro, Ukraine in the ukrainian family. He took a gap year between finishing high school and starting college to improve his English via lessons. Siianytsia came to the United States on the invitation of his current coach, Trudy Oltmanns, in 2016 on a P-1 visa and hopes to gain U.S. citizenship. Dnipro, previously called Dnipropetrovsk from 1926 until May 2016, is Ukraine's fourth-largest city, with about one million inhabitants. Pair Skating
Pair skating is a figure skating discipline defined by the International Skating Union (ISU) as "the skating of two persons in unison who perform their movements in such harmony with each other as to give the impression of genuine Pair Skating as compared with independent Single Skating".S&P/ID 2021, p. 109 The ISU also states that a pairs team consists of "one Woman and one Man". Pair skating, along with men's and women's single skating, has been an Olympic discipline since figure skating, the oldest Winter Olympic sport, was introduced at the 1908 Summer Olympics in London. The ISU World Figure Skating Championships introduced pair skating in 1908. 2020 World Junior Figure Skating Championships
The 2020 World Junior Figure Skating Championships were held in Tallinn, Estonia on March 2–8, 2020. Figure skaters competed for the title of junior world champion in men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, and ice dance. The competition determined the entry quotas for each federation during the 2020–21 ISU Junior Grand Prix series and at the 2021 World Junior Championships. Qualification Age and minimum TES requirements Skaters who reach the age of 13 before July 1, 2019, but have not turned 19 (singles and females of the other two disciplines) or 21 (male pair skaters and ice dancers) are eligible to compete at the junior level. Kate Finster (born December 14, 2003) is an American pair skater. With her former skating partner, Balazs Nagy, she is the 2020 U.S. national junior champion, the 2019 U.S. national junior silver medalist, and the 2019 JGP Poland silver medalist. Personal life Kate Finster was born on December 14, 2003 in Louisville, Kentucky to Jay and Stacey Finster. She has four siblings named Cameron, Chase, Maddie, and Caroline, and her older brother Chase also competes nationally in figure skating. Kate and Chase live together while training in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Finster's family owns three cats and three dogs. Luka Berulava
Luka Berulava (russian: Лука Берулава; ka, ლუკა ბერულავა, born 27 November 2002) is a Georgian pair skater, who currently competes with Anastasia Metelkina. Together they are two-time ISU Junior Grand Prix gold medalists. Berulava first emerged on the international scene with partner Alina Butaeva, with whom he won two medals at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics − bronze in pairs and gold in the team event. He then formed a new partnership with Karina Safina. Safina/Berulava were the first Georgian pair medalists on the ISU Junior Grand Prix circuit, having won silver at 2021 JGP Slovakia and bronze at 2021 JGP Austria, and the first Georgians to win a World Junior title in any discipline when they won gold in 2022. Alina Butaeva
Alina Butaeva ( ka, ალინა ბუთაევა, born 9 December 2005) is a Georgian pair skater. With her former partner, Luka Berulava, she won two medals at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics − bronze in pairs and gold in the team event. Personal life Butaeva was born on 9 December 2005 in Kazan, Russia. She resides in Perm. Career Early years Butaeva began learning how to skate as a three-year-old, in 2008. She originally competed as a single skater, coached by Ksenia Ivanova in Kazan. Butaeva teamed up with Luka Berulava prior to the 2019–20 season to compete in pair skating for Georgia. 2019–20 ISU Junior Grand Prix
The 2019–20 ISU Junior Grand Prix was the 23rd season of a series of junior international competitions organized by the International Skating Union. It was the junior-level complement to the 2019–20 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Skaters competed for medals in the disciplines of single skating, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance, as well as for qualifying points. The top six from each discipline qualified for the 2019–20 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, 2019–20 Junior Grand Prix Final, which was held together with the senior final.
