Danny Talbot
Danny Talbot (born 1 May 1991) is a retired British sprinter who competed in the 100 metres and the 200 metres. Career Talbot won the 200m bronze medal at the 2012 European Athletics Championships in Helsinki. For Team GB in the 4 × 100 m at the London 2012 Olympics, he ran the third leg in the heats but failed to exchange the baton with anchor Adam Gemili. He ran again for Britain in the 4 x 100 at the 2014 World Relay Championships, forming part of a quartet which ran 37.93 in the heats and went on to win bronze. At the IAAF World Championships held in London in 2017, Talbot qualified for the 200 metres semifinal with a personal best of 20.16 in his heat on 7 August. Five days later he ran the third leg for the 4 x 100 metres relay team which won the gold medal in a time of 37.47, a British and European record. Trowbridge
Trowbridge ( ) is the county town of Wiltshire, England, on the River Biss in the west of the county. It is near the border with Somerset and lies southeast of Bath, 31 miles (49 km) southwest of Swindon and 20 miles (32 km) southeast of Bristol. The town had a population of 37,169 in 2021. The 2013 European Athletics U23 Championships was the 9th edition of the biennial athletics competition between European athletes under the age of twenty-three. The men's 200 metres at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics was held at the London Olympic Stadium on 7, 9, and 10 August. Summary Coming out of the blocks in the final, Wayde van Niekerk and Isaac Makwala were the first to make up ground on the stagger, coming off the turn with Ramil Guliyev about even. Makwala started to lose ground, passed by Jereem Richards to his outside. van Niekerk seemed to have the edge until the last 30 metres when Guliyev pulled ahead. As Richards closed, all the athletes leaned for a photo finish. Guliyev had a clear win, but van Niekerk's edge for silver on Richards was the narrowest possible, .001 of a second 20.106 to 20.107. Adam Gemili
Adam Ahmed Gemili (born 6 October 1993) is a British sprinter. He is the 2014 European champion at 200 metres, and 4 x 100 metres relay, and part of the Great Britain team that won gold in the 2017 World Championships in the same event. He was the first British Athlete to go sub-10s in the 100m and sub-20s in the 200m. A silver medalist in the 100 metres and 4 × 100 m relay in the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Gemili is also a former World Junior champion at 100 m and European Under-23 champion at 100 m and 4 × 100 m relay. Achievements Gemili won a gold medal over 100 m at the 2012 World Junior Championships in Athletics in Barcelona. 200 Metres
The 200 metres, or 200-meter dash, is a sprint running event. On an outdoor 400 metre racetrack, the race begins on the curve and ends on the home straight, so a combination of techniques is needed to successfully run the race. A slightly shorter race, called the '' stadion'' and run on a straight track, was the first recorded event at the ancient Olympic Games. The 200 m places more emphasis on speed endurance than shorter sprint distances as athletes predominantly rely on anaerobic energy system during the 200 m sprint.
