The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design, more commonly known as the Danish Design School (Danish: ''Danmarks Designskole''. often abbreviated as DKDS) is an institution of higher education in Copenhagen, Denmark, offering a five-year design education consisting of a three-year Bachelor programme and a two-year Master in design as well as conducting research within the fields of arts, crafts and design. Poul Kjærholm
Poul Kjærholm (1929 – 1980) was a Danish designer. Born in Østervrå, Denmark, Kjærholm began his career as a cabinetmaker's apprentice with Gronbech in 1948, attending the Danish School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen in 1952. In 1953, he married Hanne Kjærholm who became a successful architect. While working as a designer, he also became an educator continuing studies with Prof. Erik Herløw and Prof. Palle Suenson. Life From the mid-1950s he worked for his friend Ejvind Kold Christiansen, for whom he produced an extensive range of his furniture. A design is a plan or specification for the construction of an object or system or for the implementation of an activity or process or the result of that plan or specification in the form of a prototype, product, or process. Hans Christensen (silversmith)
Hans Jørgen Thorvald Christensen (1924–1983) was a Danish-born American master silversmith, metalsmith, jeweler, designer, and educator. In the second half of the 20th century, he was a major contributor to handcrafted silver design in the United States. Christensen taught at Rochester Institute of Technology for many years and held the Charlotte Fredericks Mowris Professorship in Contemporary Crafts. Peter Jensen (fashion Designer)
Peter Jensen (born in Løgstør, Denmark) is a men's and womenswear designer. Background Jensen initially studied graphic design, embroidery and tailoring at The Royal Danish Academy of Design in Copenhagen before moving to London in 1997 to undertake an MA in menswear at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. He graduated in 1999 and formed his eponymous menswear label afterwards, subsequently also introducing womenswear. Mads Kjoeller Damkjaer (born 4 April 1975) is a Danish industrial designer, strategist and entrepreneur. Baum und Pferdgarten is a Danish fashion house. Cecilie Manz
Cecilie Manz (born 1972) is a Danish industrial designer. In November 2017, Manz was awarded designer of the year in the Design Awards by Bo bedre, Costume Living, Nordic Living and Boligmagasiet. In September 2014, she won the Danish Crown Prince Couple's Culture Award (''Kronprinsparrets Kulturpris'') for her contribution to design. Kasper Salto (born 14 February 1967) is a Danish industrial designer, most known for his furniture designs. He is the grand son of painter, ceramist and writer Axel Salto. Biography Kasper Salto was born on 14 February 1967 in Copenhagen, Denmark, as the son of textile artist Naja Salto and grandson of leading Danish ceramist Axel Salto. Jacob Jensen
Jacob Jensen (29 April 1926 – 15 May 2015) was a Danish industrial designer best known for his work with Bang & Olufsen. Jensen designed numerous popular high-end consumer products, developing a functional minimalism style that formed a prominent part of the Danish modern movement. In 1958 he founded the ''Jacob Jensen Design Studio.'' Nanna Ditzel (October 6, 1923 in Copenhagen - June 17, 2005 in Copenhagen) was a Danish furniture designer.
