Danielle Walker (politician)
Danielle Walker (born August 18, 1976) is an American politician and community activist, currently serving as a Democratic member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, representing the 51st district, which covers Morgantown and the majority of Monongalia County. As of 2021, Walker is the only Black woman serving in the West Virginia Legislature. In June 2022, Walker was elected vice chair of the West Virginia Democratic Party. Career Political career In response to the terrorist attack perpetrated on counter-protesters of the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, Walker attended a vigil with her oldest son, which was held on the campus of West Virginia University. Her son, then a student of WVU, had previously considered attending the University of Virginia, located in Charlottesville. Danielle Walker (born February 17, 1985) is an American writer, founder and editor of the gluten and grain-free food blog ''Against All Grain'', and the best-selling cookbook of the same name. Career Walker began experimenting with healthy cooking because she was suffering from the inflammatory bowel disease ulcerative colitis. She tried the specific carbohydrate diet but found that it did not totally relieve her symptoms. After some research, she tried the paleo diet and found that it helped her treat her condition. To disseminate her own recipes and other healthy diet information, Walker created ''Against All Grain'', a blog covering specialty diets including Paleo,Armstrong, Heather B"Against All Grain"''Dooce'' Gluten-free, and specific carbohydrate diet. Career In 2016 at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF), Walker won the 2016 RAW Comedy National Grand Final. She won the Best Newcomer award at the MICF in 2018 for her comedy show ''Bush Rat''. Later that year, Walker performed in London.
