Daniel Maze (born 16 June 1972 in Mortsel, Antwerp, Belgium as Daniel F. M. H. Maze Moerenhout) is a Belgian media entrepreneur and film producer. Biography Daniel Maze made his first film at age 11. He started his professional career as a music producer, whereby he was awarded with gold and platinum records, including Top 10 hits like "Lights from Above" (1997), "Born in the 70s" (1998) and No. 1 hit "Scoop" (1999). Movie career In 2004 he founded MAZEfilms, offering production and post capabilities including sound mixing, DI and CG creation and compositing. Mortsel
Mortsel () is a city and municipality close to the city of Antwerp located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality only comprises the city of Mortsel proper. In 2021, Mortsel had a total population of 26,170 people. The total area is 7.78 km². Geography The city consists of the areas Mortsel-Dorp, Oude-God and Luithagen. Scoop (dance Project)
Scoop was a Belgian dance group. Originally it was a solo project by producer Daniel Maze. After the first release "Wings of Love" in 1998, Fiocco producer Jan Vervloet joined Scoop. The production was signed in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, UK, Norway, Finland and Spain. "Wings of Love" contains a sample of John Foxx's 1980 first solo single "Underpass" and was remixed by Tiësto in 1999. The second single was the theme song for the '99 Love Parade in Berlin. "Drop It" became a No. 1 hit in the club charts in Belgium and the Netherlands, and also topped the mainstream charts in both countries. To promote the release, a video clip was created with images from the '98 Love Parade mixed with the Scoop logo.
