Daniel Mackinnon
Colonel Daniel Mackinnon (1791 – 22 June 1836) was a Scottish Colonel of the Coldstream Guards who played an important part at the Battle of Waterloo. Family Daniel was the younger son of William Mackinnon, eldest son of the Clan MacKinnon Chief in the western Highlands, and the nephew of General Mackinnon who was killed at the storming of Ciudad Rodrigo. His brother William Alexander was a Member of Parliament,'The Late Colonel Mackinnon', '' Inverness Courier'', 27 July 1836, page 2 whilst his sister Harriet was the wife of the High Church clergyman John Edward Nassau Molesworth. Dan Mackinnon
Ewen Daniel Mackinnon (11 February 1903 – 7 June 1983) was an Australian politician. The son of state MLA Donald Mackinnon, he was born in Melbourne and educated at Geelong Grammar School and then attended Oxford University. He returned to Australia as a grazier at Linton before becoming a company director and serving in the military 1938–43. In 1949, he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Liberal for Wannon, but he was defeated in 1951. In 1953 he returned to the House as the member for Corangamite, having been elected in the by-election that followed the death of Allan McDonald. In 1966, Mackinnon retired from politics and was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE). Daniel McKinnon (ice Hockey)
Daniel Duncan McKinnon (21 April 1927 – 6 August 2017) was an ice hockey player who played for the American national team. He won a silver medal at the 1956 Winter Olympics. He was born in Williams, Minnesota. McKinnon had been an All-Star while playing for the University of North Dakota hockey team following the Second World War. In 1951 McKinnon followed a group of friends to San Bernardino, California for a year. He played hockey for the San Bernardino Shamrocks and worked as a diesel engine repairman for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway , often referred to as the Santa Fe or AT&SF, was one of the larger railroads in the United States. Daniel MacKinnon (born 1 September 1983) is a retired New Zealand professional boxer. MacKinnon has entered the WBO top 15 rankings multiple times, peaking at #12 in the Super Middleweight Division in November 2008 and #12 in the Light Heavyweight Division August 2013. Australian contender MacKinnon took part in ''The Contender Australia'', a reality television show based on the sport of boxing. The show practically was a fourteen-man tournament with boxers hailing from Australia and New Zealand. MacKinnon won his first bout against Luke Moloney which put him into the quarter finals.
