Daniel F. Walsh
Daniel Francis Walsh (born October 2, 1937) is an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. Walsh first served as an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of San Francisco in California from 1981 to 1987, then as bishop of the Diocese of Reno-Las Vegas in Nevada from 1987 to 1995. With the creation of the Diocese of Las Vegas, Walsh served there as bishop from 1995 to 2000. Walsh then served as bishop of the Diocese of Santa Rosa in California from 2000 to 2011. Biography Early life and priesthood Danial Walsh was born on October 2, 1937, in San Francisco, California. He attend St. Anne’s School before entering St. Joseph High School in Mountain View, California. Walsh was ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of San Francisco on March 30, 1963, in the Mission Dolores Basilica in San Francisco by Joseph Thomas McGucken. Excellency
Excellency is an honorific style given to certain high-level officers of a sovereign state, officials of an international organization, or members of an aristocracy. Once entitled to the title "Excellency", the holder usually retains the right to that courtesy throughout their lifetime, although in some cases the title is attached to a particular office, and is held only for the duration of that office. Generally people addressed as ''Excellency'' are heads of state, heads of government, governors, ambassadors, Roman Catholic bishops and high-ranking ecclesiastics and others holding equivalent rank (e.g., heads of international organizations). A bishop is an ordained clergy member who is entrusted with a position of authority and oversight in a religious institution. Chancellor is an ecclesiastical title used by several quite distinct officials of some Christian churches. *In some churches, the Chancellor of a diocese is a lawyer who represents the church in legal matters. *In the Catholic Church a chancellor is the chief record-keeper of a diocese or eparchy or their equivalent. Mission San Francisco De Asís
Mission San Francisco de Asís ( es, Misión San Francisco de Asís), commonly known as Mission Dolores (as it was founded near the Dolores creek), is a Spanish Californian mission and the oldest surviving structure in San Francisco. Located in the Mission District, it was founded on October 9, 1776, by Padre Francisco Palóu (a companion of Junípero Serra) and co-founder Fray Pedro Benito Cambón, who had been charged with bringing Spanish settlers to Alta California and with evangelizing the local indigenous Californians, the Ohlone.
